RED OCHRE linen has the enveloping warmth of terracotta, a rustic color that seems drawn from the ground like Italian tiles or dry earth parched by the sun.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Alisha profile image The color is more amazing in person.

This is a lovely dark orange color. I filled a custom order for bridesmaids dresses in this color and loved it so much that I designed a dress for myself and then made baby bloomers with the tiny scraps.

Great Texture and Color

F/S linen always meets expectations. This particular color is vibrant yet subtle at the same time. Love it.

This color is very nice

I stitched up a simple rustic tablecloth, hemming only the raw edges and then leaving the selvedge edges alone, using two yards. It turned out nicely and I am making more in other colors for my table. This color is lovely.

I have made a hack of one of my company's dressmaking patterns, the Lin jumpsuit. It's a gorgeous pattern but I realized I couldn't wear it whilst breastfeeding, so I added a center front opening. It fastens with poppers because those are easier to do one-handed, and has small vintage buttons. I think your clothes need to suit your life, otherwise you will never wear them.

FS LILY pattern - I'm a sucker for sets, so of course, I immediately decided I was going to sew the top and skirt in matching linen. I chose the IL019 Red Ochre Mid Weight linen as I generally gravitate towards neutrals, but this pattern was screaming color to me. Plus, these pieces are timeless and can be paired with almost anything in my wardrobe.
