Peter Lanyon’s turbulent paintings capture the sublime rough and tumble of the English coastline, with free, energized brushstrokes and luminous shades of grey alike to QUARTZ Linen.
A leading member of the St Ives School in Cornwall, Lanyon blended the style of Abstract Expressionism with the majestic wonder of the Cornish landscape, painting craggy rock faces, turbulent clouds, and frothy ocean waves as an energized flurry of movement and sensation. “It is impossible for me to make a painting which has no reference to the powerful environment in which I live,” he explained.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Sara profile image I was sold!

When my first linen order arrived, I was nervous about it being stiff. Then I prepped it and it turned into this bubbly, crinkly goodness that I just love. It feels so fresh and natural against my skin. The very first item I made was a romper for my son, and it washed up so beautifully time and again.

Love the product

I am a physician with some time on hand, I decided to try sewing. I love this fabric. It is super soft.... Trying on more sewing projects, and hoping for having the time to buy more and sew more.

I recently had the honor of being featured in the Curated By You series, and I decided to use the leftover QUARTZ linen from my dress to make some new Christmas stockings for my family. We have quite the miss-matched collection of stockings from past years, and my youngest son didn't even have his own yet. You can read more about this project here: blog.fabrics-store.com/2021/12/16/how-to-make-linen-christmas-star-stockings-tutorial/

Fringe Dress by Chalk + Notch Patterns Made with FS QUARTZ Midweight Linen. I love sewing staple pieces that can be layered in various ways. Sewing linen was a brand-new venture for me this year! I've made a couple pairs of shorts, pants, and a jumpsuit for myself, as well as rompers and shirts for my boys. A linen dress was next and I'm in love.

Just tried my hand on 1 yard cloth. This is my first sewing project with no pattern on hand.
