In Giorgio Morandi's elegantly understated paintings, closely toned shades of peach, cream, and ivory nestle together and embrace one another with fleshy warmth. The blushing peach tinge of PRISTINE Linen was one he would repeatedly return to because it allowed him to infuse his canvases with the softly diffused glow of Italian sunlight, whether falling across dusty houses or the pared back still life subjects that eventually made him a pioneer of mid-century modernism.
Reflecting on the strength of his legacy today, art historian Roberto Longhi described him as "arguably the greatest Italian painter of the 20th century."

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

The colour is not what it seems

the colour in the photo looks like a soft peach but its definitely white. it still worked fine but the colour was not at all what I was expecting.

Subtle off white

In certain lights it is hard to tell the difference between Pristine and regular bleached and white linen, but it is a very subtle off-white with undertones that are nowhere near as yellow as they appear in the photo. The regular bleached and white linens were just a little too stark for my project, but Pristine was the perfect tone while still reading as white.

Inaccurate color

I was expecting a pale peach (from the pucture) or cream (from a review). I opened the package at night, in normal overhead light, and thought they sent white by mistake. This morning I looked at the fabric again. It is definitely not peach or cream but winter white, not at all what I expected.

Beautiful fabric

This is a soft and lovely linen fabric. I washed it right away and it looks great. I like the slightly wrinkled and very natural look of washed linen. It drapes beautifully for curtains. The only problem is that it is quite yellow (or cream). Not exactly the color I wanted, but I will be ordering more in a different color.

Lovely soft white.... not bright

I seem to be a fabric hoarder, and purchased 16 yards of beautiful Pristine for queen sized sheets and pillow cases. I am considering making two "top" sheets, which can be tucked into the mattress easily if made generously. In fact, a nurse told me the old-time way to use top sheets as fitted ones was to use a hairband or rubber band when making the bed and tuck the sheets up between the mattress and the box springs. I'm not positive I'd rather do that than make a fitted sheet, nor am I positive I want a top sheet at all, but rather a bed coverlet, which is sometimes called a summer spread. So, I am torn.... and now have all of this beautiful fabric calling to me daily. Anyway, I LOVE the linens here and have purchased some Tawny Port for the Morocco pants and an unknown as-yet top.

I decided to make this Oversized Blouse because I go through phases where I wear the same two or three items in rotation. This blouse will be one of them. I made it oversized, with extra length so that it can be layered or worn as a dress or an oversized T-shirt. The neutral tone of PRISTINE Linen is a great choice of color for this, it will never be too much. I am in a flowy linen pant (which by the way is the pant from the AKIRA Pattern here on fabric store) I did a trick here with one of the sleeves on the top that I often do with oversized blouses and dresses. I tucked the sleeve edge into my bra strap to shorten the sleeve.

Peasant blouse from an ancient discontinued pattern. The fabric would be a bit too sheet for me in a tailored blouse, but with the volume of this one, it is perfect. Pants are of Blue Heaven IL019
