Bold, vibrant and filled with optimism, PACIFIC BLUE linen mirrors David Hockney's dazzling, eye popping blues. Celebrated for his playful and adventurous colour palette, Hockney spent his early years as an artist living and working in LA. Moving between the UK and US in his later years, the vivid colours of California stayed with him and coloured his many subjects, from sunlit interiors to windswept British pastures, igniting in them a passionate and invigorating sense of life.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces, this 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Susan profile image Great for embroidery

I make throw pillows and have been looking for a place where I can get quality linen in lots of colors. I've been getting samples from several places and love FS look and feel not to mention price. This is the first fabric I made a pillow from. It is gorgeous! The color of this fabric just pops and it is easy to work with. silverneedleworks.com

Addiction

Ok, now that I've made lots of clothes and bedding I discovered using my scraps for various sized face cloths and hand towels, double sided. Nice. I'll never go back to store bought home goods again.

The linen itself is the same, wonderful quality I expect from Fabrics-Store.com, but the color is just incredible. It looks even more amazing in person.

Love it!

REALLY love the top I made out of this. Looks rich, yet is so soft and comfy. Great to wear on a hot day, but definitely feel I could wear it in spring and fall too.

This Pacific Blue is Stunning! I made a beautiful shift dress with it that will be perfect for the beach this summer. I used Guterman thread #625 ( perfect match). I am soooo going to order this again for a few more pieces 5stars!

This is the Loren pattern in the beautiful IL019 Pacific Blue. The picture is a bit distorted because of the angle. The dress was such a joy to make and wear. Many compliments and oh so comfortable in the hot August evening of my husband's class reunion. The buttons are bright green enamel, custom made for me by PacificViewStudio, an online Etsy shop. I made a blouse from Loren before the dress to work on the neck and overlap. Not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. The F-S patterns are so well drafted it just flows together.

Hand towels and face cloths from my current linen scrap pile. Really soft and just plain lovely.

Wonderful color! I have enough left after making this dress that I'll probably use it for highlights on another garment.
