IL019 All-purpose Meadow Fs Signature Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.3 oz/yd2), Width 58"
Hovering somewhere between green, blue and soft grey, MEADOW
linen has a mysterious ambiguity, like misty fog gathering over a salty
sea.
In French Impressionist Claude Monet's hand, this color was transformed
into flickering patches of cold, airy morning light or a smoggy,
enveloping haze. The mutable, changeable nature of this color reflected
Monet's fascination with the fleeting nature of space and atmosphere.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Customer Questions and Answers
Is this linen appropriate for napkins? I don't want anything "rough" feeling. Thanks.
Yes, this si the perfect smooth soft fabric for napkins.
Hi what is the difference between this fabric and the IL019 meadow softened?
This fabric is the exact same color, but is on our softer base, which is the FS signature finish. This finish is softer to the touch and has less shrinkage (up to 3%) in comparison to the softened version which is a little stiffer, but still soft, and has 7% shrinkage. Hi. Is there a pale green that is more celery than aqua? Green with white rather than green with blue.
I would say our most green leaning light color is going to be Eucalyptus. Don't forget you can order color chips to see them in person before committing to your yardage.
I'd like to ask if you could please suggest a Gutterman thread match for the color Meadow?
Gutermann color 602 Aqua Mist, or Gutermann Mara 331. These are for the Sew-All threads.
Why can't I access the 15 yard price on your website? I don't want to go through Facebook to pay. :-(

Would you recommend medium or heavy linen for loose pants?
This medium weight linen is a popular choice for loose pants and is the most commonly chosen fabric for the patterns we create. You may also enjoy our 4C22 heavyweight linen which we also love for its drape and a little extra structure.

I LOVE Meadow. Such a lovely light blue color. I used it to make my first dress - a button front, ruffle dress hacked from the All Well Studio Box Top. It was pretty easy to sew for a beginner! The dress is incredibly lightweight on. Perfect for spring/summer.
I bought this fabric to make a nightgown for summer. It exceeded my expectations being easy to sew, easy to wash and so comfortable I never want to take it off. My skill at sewing is very rudimentary but sewing on this fabric was not difficult and fun. Can't wait to make another. Will buy again.
My first linen nightgown, complete with handmade linen roses at the deep V. This fabric cut and sewed so easily, despite the fact I'm a basic seamstress, the gown just flowed off my machine in no time and with very little effort. Can't wait to make my next one as I don't want to get out of this nightgown, it is so soft and comfortable. I love this linen. This nightgown has been washed at least 4 times and it just gets softer which I didn't think was possible.
