Cubist painter Georges Braque celebrated the ambient power of warm, naturalistic colors throughout his career, bringing rich and appealing earthy tones like LODEN GREEN into many of his most famous paintings.
A pioneering French Cubist alongside Pablo Picasso, Braque’s limited hues initially gave him room to focus on wildly experimental designs without letting bright colors distract his attention. But over time these colors became his trademark style, and he really relished in their harmonious, atmospheric possibilities. Greens nestled in amongst shades of brown, grey and black became radiant warmth, conveying fresh shoots of new plant life, ripe fruits or shafts of sunlight streaming through open windows.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Although I have not yet made the napkins this linen was purchased for. the quality of the fabric is impressive. The colour on the screen was true to the fabric which was a pleasant surprise. Also, it co-ordinates very nicely with my existing fabric that will be used for the placemats with linen trim. Shipping was quick and easy. Thank you.
As the previous reviewer said, this green goes really well with Weeping Willow. I feel as if it is a shade in the same color family... like they would be on the same paint chip if we were paint shopping. Loden is not too dark or light, just a nice mid-tone.
This deep shade of Loden will work beautifully with the weeping willow. I love the combination together. Heavier weight so useful for slacks, or jacket! Planning to come back for more. Not a traditional Christmas green, but will be glorious for holidays in the right combination!
This is a lovely green that reminds me a little of lichen. I used it for Simplicity 8640 and really like it. I can dress this up with a statement necklace or scarf and wear it in fall, winter, and early spring. The pockets are lined; just for fun I used leftover scraps of Weeping Willow for that.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
