The silvery grey-blue of LAGOON linen became leaden, steely skies in the hands of painter Joan Eardley, capturing the furious energy of storm-laden seascapes in thick slabs, swipes and streaks of moody color.
A master in capturing the wild, elemental and unspoiled beauty of the Scottish coastline, Eardley heaved huge canvases into the landscape during the worst storms, when she could battle against the mightiest forces of nature.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces, this 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I absolutely loved this color. I made the tie pillowcases, and some throw pillows with this and they were extremely easy to sew. I was pleasantly surprised! Will be ordering lots more in the future (:

Love the color and the quality of the fabric
Reviewer: Kelly

I've been wanting to create a linen top for myself, but couldn't find a store that carries the color that I want. Luckily, I found Fabric-store.com which has vast array of linen fabrics in different colors and weight. I will definitely order this fabric again.

Gorgeous color!
Reviewer: Teresa

The color lives up to the lyrical description of it. It really does remind me of a stormy Atlantic ocean. It has more of a greenish tinge than the greyish-blue it appears on my monitor. I made a set of sheets with it and could not be happier with them.

Great for a blue-eyed baby boy
Reviewer: Nicole

This fabric came out of the hot dryer so soft! It was perfect for the romper I made for my grandson's first birthday. The blue is a very pretty soft muted color which enhances blue eyes. It was easy to sew.

I ordered this mid wt Lagoon at the same time as 4C22 Blue Bayou. They are exactly the same color. I see that Blue Bayou is now out of stock so perhaps discontinued??

Had a Hole
Reviewer: Becky

While the linen is nice, though a bit lighter in color than expected, there was a small plasticy hole in the middle of my fabric. While I can work around it, it is rather annoying, and I wish it wasn't there.

I ordered this material to make towels for my new guest bath, and they came out beautifully! They gave such a lovely finishing touch. I was amazed how soft and absorbent they were!

Reviewer: Mina

This 2019 color is a beautiful greyed bluegreen. Reed is a little bluer, Agave is a little greener. Prestige is a lovely darker bluegrey. Turquoise is a lot brighter, less grey.

For those doing SCA or medieval re-enactmet, there are lovely soft blue-greens online,, like this year's -2019- Lagoon, Reed, and Agave, as mushroom dye colors on wool from Scandinavia. (In Europe more in wool than linen, but for the US, we have to use the cooler fabric. And they have hot summers too.) Also there are onliine pictures of the purples one can get by dyeing with lichens, so Montana Grape is a possible color .

Absolutely love this linen! The weight of it is perfect, and the color is beautiful

Here is a dress I made with Lagoon, IL019. I have a generous supply of Fabrics-Store.com linen and this color is one of my favorites. Just like their linens are my favorite of all the stores I have tried. If you'd like to see some of my linen makes, my YouTube channel is "Saturday Sewing with Debbie." This dress will be featured in my May 2021 video.

The Ruby Crossover is another one of Fabrics-store's free downloadable patterns. I'm not much of a dress person, but in the hot summer months to come, I know this linen dress will get lots of wear. It's the perfect piece to pull-on and go. Little effort, big impact. The lagoon color reminds me so much of Lake Michigan in the summer, a faded blue bringing back the best memories. This linen is well made at an affordable price! I love it. It's greyer than turquoise. I will likely be buying more in the future!
