The silvery grey-blue of LAGOON linen became leaden, steely skies in the hands of painter Joan Eardley, capturing the furious energy of storm-laden seascapes in thick slabs, swipes and streaks of moody color.
A master in capturing the wild, elemental and unspoiled beauty of the Scottish coastline, Eardley heaved huge canvases into the landscape during the worst storms, when she could battle against the mightiest forces of nature.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

If this is not being used in a high traffic area, yes you can use it. We do have this color in our heavier linen 4C22. Ordering a sample of both might help in making your choice of which weight to use.

BringYourOwnFluff profile image Loveliest Color

I am absolutely in love with this color. Made a giant pair of wide leg pants, and think I might buy more for a wrap dress/duster. The color is as others mention, sort of a faded copper patina; a washed-out turquoise; a blue-green with a fair amount of gray to it. I think this is a new neutral! This linen, like all that I order from here is a nice quality, with a few slubs/loose threads here or there that I pull to the wrong side of the fabric with a small crochet hook. Not a big deal! Like all linens, this fabric gets much, much softer with machine washing and drying.

Beautiful rich color

I've placed a few orders of this color since my customers love it! I make sleepwear and tote bags, and sell them on my Etsy shop, and this color is one of the favorites. The quality of linen is really good, so I am happy with my purchase and plan to make many more in the future.

Beautiful color and easy to work with

I absolutely loved this color. I made the tie pillowcases, and some throw pillows with this and they were extremely easy to sew. I was pleasantly surprised! Will be ordering lots more in the future (:

Self-drafted wide leg pants in medium-weight fabrics-store linen in 'Lagoon'. The top is a Helen's Closet Ashton top colorblock hack from the blog in scraps from other projects in: natural, natural mix, folkstone gray, and lagoon.

I had a stash of this fabric that I recalled would make a perfect gray/blue bodice and my customer loved it! The lagoon softened is a glorious fabric to work with, buttery soft and feels wonderful. The color is amazing, and I'm actually going to reorder the fabric so I can finally work on my own project with it (a shirt). I'll say that like all linen the cut edges especially on a diagonal can cause the fabric to stretch a little out of shape, so as always I try not to cut until I'm ready to sew. But I absolutely do love this linen!

My own design hand stamped sleeveless tunic.

Large tote bags for grocery shopping, or beach bags, I used lagoon and wisteria linen for exterior. In fact, these bags are reversible, so both sides could be used. I sell them on my Etsy shop ChooseLinen.
