IRIS Linen’s pale lilac shade often featured in her art, forming cold passages of light in amongst riotous patchworks of intensity, suggesting the electric light that pulsed through her life.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I would say this hue is in between the pink of orchid with the blue of lavender. It is a shade, which is to say it has been darkened or muted. On the gray scale, where 1 is white and 10 is black, this appears to be in the 2-4 range. It flatters those of us with cool skin tones. As always, the quality is wonderful and it is fantastic to sew.
Just in time before the summer is over I made my new absolutely favorite summer dress. I used IL020 CORAL Softened / IL019 IRIS Softened / IL020 SILVER LILAC Softened. The striped fabric is deadstock and from my stash. It's 100% cotton and not from fabrics-store – but it fit so perfectly with the other colors so I used it.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this lovely color as soon as I got it. I used Iris IL019 Soften for this Basic Gored Skirt. I added a draw string waist and accented it by top stitching the seams with a variegated pastel thread. This item along with many others is available in my FB Shop Naturalfiberbliss
The color changes with the light, being brighter indoors. It is a very soft color. This is a self drafted portrait neck blouse, with hand embroidery.
My other photo shows the color a little dull but it looks exactly as shown on the site.
Looks exactly like the picture and sample I received...a pastel Lilac... I can't wait to make a pretty dress from this eventually. Washed it and it softened up even more... so beautiful.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
