IL019 CERAMIC Softened - 100% Linen - Middle (5.3 oz/yd2)
Dazzling sea blue-greens like that of CERAMIC Linen
sparkle across Armand Guillaumin's canvases, lending them the sparkling
vibrancy of the French countryside.
A leading Impressionist
painter in
nineteenth-century France, Guillaumin is world-renowned for his luminous
colors which capture the glistening light of his native France, from
the rural scenery around Paris to the dappled Creuse River and the
sun-soaked Cote D’Azur along the Mediterranean coast.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces, this 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I just received my order of 10 yards of CERAMIC and was disappointed that it is much more green than is shown in all of the pictures posted by customers and Fabrics-Stores. I thought they might have sent MOSAIC instead, but MOSAIC is a bit lighter. I'll probably return it and buy CERULEAN instead. Nice linen.
I love this fabric & knew I wanted to make a pair of shorts from it in this luscious color. I was not disappointed when it arrived, and have received many compliments on my finished product. I used the Jules pattern again. This fits so nicely & is so easy to sew up.
I used this fabric combined with Sulphur yellow as a dress for my 6 year old grand daughter. It's a made up pattern similar to my own dresses. I love working with this linen. Picture below.
Beautiful color and fabric. Used it to make a caftan tunic for my Mom. She's going to love it.
I made an over sized beach towel with this linen. What's nice is that sand does not stick to it, shakes off easily, and dries incredibly fast. Also, less bulky when packing. I finished the edges with a 3\" hem, mitered corners, so when not in use as a beach towel, it makes a wonderful throw.

Easy to cut, easy to sew. After pre-washing it is very soft and not see through. The true color looks just like the fabric description color. I was very pleased with this purchase.
Very pleased with this linen, great service. Its difficult to buy beautiful linen like this in New Zealand but now that I have found your site I'm set, so many colour choices too. I am making a panelled dress for myself.
This was my first experience in sewing with linen and I love it. I haven't finished my tunic/dress yet, so can't post it. I'm still learning about this organic lovely fabric. It's truly addictive!
I wasn't sure how this would work up for clothing construction, but I couldn't be happier. The color is a bright, clear blue that was perfect for Easter Sunday. I'll be buying more of this fabric.
Ceramic is a beautiful, true, rich and sumptuous color. The fabric behaves well and is easy to work. Now that I've seen it, I'm so tempted to make sheets and a duvet cover. Love it. All of the fabrics I've purchased, through Fabric Store are absolutely the best.
This fabric is just beautiful to sew. While the colour is a little brighter than it showed on my laptop, the quality is great and I really enjoyed working with it - made a very large floor cushion with some other colours from the range and it looks great.
I love the IL019 linen for my design shop. The fabric is fabulous to work with. It takes dyes and paints very well. The colors are true and the feel great. It also heat sets well. There are so many colors to choose from, it makes it easy to find a solid color for the coordinating back of the pillow. I usually use IL019 Optic White Softened for the painted front of the pillow. This linen is truly addictive! I also make clothes, guest towels, and much more. Love it!
The piece (which I of course would be using for an idea for an item I am thinking of upholstering) It would definately STAND OUT! The softening of the 100% Linen is a very nice touch, however, there is still a need for an underlying fabric. (As most of you gurus may already know) But for the "do-it-yourself-er's" - even though we may not totally know what we are doing, I just want to let you know let the project lead you, let the color/design/defects(ONLY seen by you- The artist define that it's yours, never fear to add your own personal flair (that's what every work of art needs - if everything were the same... why do A-R-T? My review, this color is a wonderful splash and texture to make anything REALLY stand out, (just make sure you want it to do so.)
The FS AMI Pattern is my literal favorite right now. I have a mini capsule collection in my closet now thanks to this pattern. The shorts are my second make. I chose to work with CERAMIC Linen to complement the other colors I chose for the other patterns in this collection. It's such a rich and vibrant tone.
