IL019 All-purpose Arctic Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.3 oz/yd2), Width 58"
Richard Diebenkorn is one of the greatest colorists in the history of American art.
Throughout his long and varied career, he moved through various styles of figuration and abstraction, but it was always an emphasis on the expressive properties of bold, brilliantly bright color that he returned to over and over again. In soaring shades of turquoise blue such as ARCTIC Linen, Diebenkorn invoked vast swathes of oceanic light, letting it wave over his canvases like crescendos of crashing water.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
Will this ever be in stock again? I absolutely love the color, it's a perfect, muted teal.
We don't currently have this on our list of fabrics arriving in the next order. please check back by emailing us to see if it will be coming back.
Will you be getting Arctic stocked again soon or is it discontinued? Thanks, Linda
It is a color we hope to get back in stock but more than likely it will not be until next year. Please check back with us at the end of October to see if we have had any updates.
Another reviewer compared this color to Turquoise. I have a similar opinion. I love the muted blue of the Turquoise. The Arctic has more of a green-gray undertone to it. It's not quite a neutral, but I expect it will blend with a lot of my wardrobe. It's such a lovely color. Please continue to carry it.
I made a Dove blouse from a doggie bag piece and loved the color. So, I got Meadow, and they look so lovely together, I needed the next one... with help from the FB community, decided Arctic was it, and it is perfect! I will have a whole outfit soon... if I can determine which will be the tops and which the bottoms. I love linen!
I had emailed asking for advice on which blue they carried that was closest to robin's egg blue. A prompt reply gave me 3 suggestions. I chose to order Arctic and am not disappointed! It is so very pretty, richly colored in the perfect blue/green. Of course, the problem with a really beautiful fabric is you want to find that super-special pattern to do it justice, and that first cut is almost painful! I will post whatever I make out of it. I strongly suggest you continue to carry this color and please offer it in the lighter weight as well. Thanks!
My previous favorite was Turquoise. This new color, Artic (2021), is the same lightness, brightness, and the same clearness of color, but it is a little greener of a blue-green. Goes with lots of my fabrics I designed at Spoonflower, and lots of my favorite clothes. Just what I was wishing for. (Lagoon is a similar amount of green-blue, but much greyer, and darker.)
This color is beautiful! The perfect blend of blue & green. I made the Noor wrap dress (free pattern from Fabrics Store) with extra shoulder fabric & extra bottom fabric removed (there's a blog about this on their site). I also made the ties from the fabric instead of twill ties.
