Andrew Wyeth’s paintings are an ode to the barren, melancholic wonder of the American outback, celebrating its long, parched grass and creaky buildings stained yellow in the sun.
The golden glow of APPLE CINNAMON Linen tinged Wyeth’s paintings with the tart sweetness of homemade apple juice, infusing a comforting warmth into his otherwise lonely, abandoned scenes.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

BringYourOwnFluff profile image Lovely Ochre Color

I believe this color to be the closest Fabrics-Store has to an ochre color, and so I went for it! This linen, like all that I order from here is a nice quality, with a few slubs/loose threads here or there that I pull to the wrong side of the fabric with a small crochet hook. Not a big deal! Like all linens, this fabric gets much, much softer with machine washing and drying.

My DB Throw

Wasn't sure how the colors would actually look in person so I ordered a number of different Doggie Bag remnants, nothing over 1/ 2 hard as I didn't want to spend extra time in ordering samples. Decided to sew them together at random lengths for a light weight summer throw. Used a flat felled seam with a contrasting color thread. 3" fringe. All but the brown (natural) were 5 oz. weight. Washed, dried, spray starched (as I do with quilt fabric) and ironed before cutting and sewing. Just the right weight for summer evenings when the A/C is lowered for the night. LOVE this fabric!

Yum!

This is a warm, medium, golden brown color; just like cooked apples and cinnamon! The swatch on my monitor is spot-on and the quality of the fabric is great, as always! So nice to see some new colors!

I made Size 2 Mykonos Pattern without any mods and I am smitten. The construction is certainly not for the faint of heart with its many steps and finicky chest pocket and collar insertion, but in the end, it comes together cleverly. Get ready for a lot of top-stitching. I used a combination of softened linen in muted colorways fungi, desert sand, angora, and apple cinnamon. Some neat features include the hidden inside chest pocket buttons, the clean curved front hem, and the triangular side panels.

For the Lily skirt I went for medium-weight linen in Apple Cinnamon color.I like everything in this collection: the dress, the skirt and the tunic, I haven't come across any pattern similar to this one on the net so giving thanks to the designers on a good job for this pattern.
