IL019 All-purpose Allure Fs Signature Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Medium (5.3 oz/yd2), Width 58"
Soaring shades of sky blue like ALLURE Linen dominated Paul Cezanne’s
late paintings, filling them with the crisp vitality of the
Mediterranean coast. By now settled in his home town of Provence, the
art Cezanne made in the last decade of his life are now considered his
greatest contribution to the history of art, cementing his place as the
great father of modern art.
He obsessively painted the Provencal
landscape over and over again as a shifting tapestry of pastel blues and
sandy beiges, merging sky and ground into one prismatic whole. “I think I could be occupied for months without changing my place,” he observed of Provence, “bending a little more to the left or right.”
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Customer Questions and Answers
I am hoping to make some Pojagi curtains and wonder if this weight, when held up next to a window, would have light shine through?
Yes IL019 medium weight will work to make a Pojagi curtains , all linen fabric even heavy will have a light through shine . If you planning to do patch work for Pojagi curtains and chose darker colors of fabric it will eliminate light through shine
Is this color a medium blue? I'm looking for a medium steel blue with a touch of green.
Yes, I would describe this as a medium tone. To be sure, you can order samples to see it in person.
I have several blues that I've purchased from Fabrics-store these past 10 years, but when I opened the package that contained Allure, I literally gasped aloud. It is the most beautiful I've seen. I was worried that they'd retired the color, but it's back, so I can purchase a few more yards to make a dress. Thank you Fabrics-store for restocking this!
This is my first time to order the Signature Finish linen. It is very soft and drapes beautifully. But compared to softened medium weight linen, I found it a bit harder to work with. Because it is so soft (and seems somewhat thinner), the cut edges tend to be a bit wishy-washy, and it required a lot of pins to keep the two edges from wandering away from each other. I think the softened linen holds its shape better while sewing, even though it's not quite as soft as this Signature Finish fabric. I have to say, though, that this is the perfect fabric for the robe I made!
A child's bath robe which is lined with the adorable 'sailors white' cotton percale. Outer fabric is the beautiful medium weight linen in 'allure'!
