RIM linen's tawny, warm grey features heavily in French Cubist Georges Braque's palette, as patches of fawn light are cast across dimly lit scenes, creating stillness and tranquillity. Though his early paintings were awash with Fauvist colour, it was Braque's later, steely grey canvases that defined him as a true pioneer of early abstraction.

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

The Premier Finish undergoes a two-step process to give the cloth a luxurious, supple feel right out of the box.

First, we apply a softener to give the fabric a silkier surface. Then, strong blasts of air are blown into the woven cloth. This beats up the fibers to make them softer and mimics the fiber bending process that the fabric undergoes when you've used it a lot.

This finishing process gives the fabric a much softer and more luxurious hand. It will be less prone to deep creases and have less linting. Shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration based on the fabric type ( thread size, count, weave type).

Yes our heavier weights, such as this one, are the most popular choices for the project you are interested in making.

Fabulous fabric

I look forward to creating something special with this beautiful fabric. So versatile to work into my wardrobe and the weight of the fabric is heavy enough for winter warmth.

Annette profile image Beautiful taupe color.

I agree with Christi: This Rim fabric is such a BEAUTIFUL shade of taupe, it's the perfect neutral. It looks good with Dress Blue, with English Rose, with Anthracite, with Meadow, with Ginger, you name it. So far, I've made a top and a pair of pants out of Rim, and I have another piece waiting for whatever comes next.

Christi profile image The COLOR

Rim is an absolutely gorgeous neutral. It is like a grayed subtle taupe. I look best in cool tones so I don't buy the tan shades. Going to make pants out of this heavier weight for outside work in the winter here in TX.

Purchased a piece of this heavy weight fabric from the "doggie bag" section just to see what a primer finish might mean. What a lovely fabric to work with. Sturdy ,yet soft and does not wrinkle much. Absolutely NO shedding! Yea ! And the color is wonderfully warm and earthy.
