4C22 Rustic Mix Natural - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.1 oz/yd2), Width 57"
The Natural color thread in this fabric is the earth made color of flax when it has been retted and woven into thread. No dyes, no bleach. The only thing that impacts the color of the cloth from one production to the next ( if it is more beige or grey) is the amount of sunshine and rain that particular flax harvest had.
Bleached linen color thread is made by "stripping" the natural color out of flax ( just like you would with bleaching hair). What you are left with is a very soft shade that is just ever so slightly an off-white color.
Mix Natural color is achieved with one bleached thread and one natural color thread interwoven together. As a result - you have a grey toned natural color that is a great compliment to all other colors.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

Does the Mix Natural come in softened? I have a sample of the Premier finish. What is the regular Mix Natural feel?

At this time we do not have in stock 4C-22 Mix Natural Soften. Regular Non-softened (no finish) linen will have a stiffer hand, but will eventually soften to that nice supple hand that all linens come to with wash and use. You will need to consider shrinkage here as well (7-10%).
Hi, Is this 4C22 Rustic Mix Natural fabric better for Fall mens clothing vs Summer Garments? Also, can it be washed to soften the fabric a little?

Hello, This fabric is suitable for both summer and fall garments. Some people in very hot climates prefer our lighter weights for summer, but the 4C22 heavyweight is still lovely and breathable. Yes, this fabric will soften up over time with repeated use and washing. You can also purchase our linen softening potion for immediate results.

I havé purchased thé mixed linen over and over again. It's versitile— Î've made slacks, shorts, jackets and slipcovers for a 114in. Sofá. It washes to a luscious texture that Just keeps looking beautiful. Be aware there is some residual shrinkage over thé Life of thé item, be sure to leave a bit-o-extra length on longer items.
While I've been buying your linen for several years and love it all, a couple of years ago I discovered the heavy weight variety. It is heavy, for sure, but its weight makes it that much more special. I've made two or three dresses & now swear by the stuff! I have even sat on a plane for hours in these dresses and arrived almost wrinkle-less!
Rustic dinner napkins
I made 14 large dinner napkins with mitered corners. I ordered 5 yards and had fabric to spare. I am very pleased with the results!
I used 4C22 Mix Natural to make the Akira wrap pattern into a robe (I made the pattern longer). It's perfect. This fabric feels luscious and I will be making many more things with it. Truly the best robe ever. I can't wait to make the capris and a cardigan and anything else I can think of using this fabric.
I order bolts of this fabric quite regularly, however the past few rolls were so stiff and slubby - not impressed! There were also lots of little fibers poking out, it's no comparison to the bolts I previously purchased! I'd like to continue purchasing bolts, but if they continue to come like this, I may need to find them elsewhere.

I used one yard of DB 4C22 MIX NATURAL to reupholster 3 forgotten-about teak dining chairs that were in my parent's garage. This linen fabric was very easy to work with, and the results were spectacular. I chose this particular linen because I was working with upholstery and I needed a heavy fabric. The shade of linen is very light, but these aren't everyday dining chairs. We are really happy with the way they turned out.

Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
