American painter Richard Diebenkorn is one of the 20th century’s most celebrated painters, capturing the hazy light of his native California with cool, crystalline colors like that of MICRO CHIP Linen. His world-renowned ‘Ocean Park’ series was made during the 1970s as inspired by the oceanic landscape of Santa Monica, where he had made his forever home.

These paintings were radical for several reasons – they pioneered a minimalist approach to abstraction, with angular, architectural lines and spliced geometric panels. Colors were equally as ground-breaking – large areas of pale, misty and watery lilacs seem to expand across the surfaces of his huge canvases, broken into with jewel-like shards of intense brightness.

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I love this color! A hint of lavender with a wash of white. Just gorgeous. I love this heavier weight for these winter temps. I check this site every morning for new colors, sales & the coveted doggie bag.
