Hovering somewhere between green, blue and soft grey, MEADOW
linen has a mysterious ambiguity, like misty fog gathering over a salty
sea.
In French Impressionist Claude Monet's hand, this color was transformed
into flickering patches of cold, airy morning light or a smoggy,
enveloping haze. The mutable, changeable nature of this color reflected
Monet's fascination with the fleeting nature of space and atmosphere.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
The Premier Finish undergoes a two-step process to give the cloth a luxurious, supple feel right out of the box.
First, we apply a softener to give the fabric a silkier surface. Then, strong blasts of air are blown into the woven cloth. This beats up the fibers to make them softer and mimics the fiber bending process that the fabric undergoes when you've used it a lot.
This finishing process gives the fabric a much softer and more luxurious hand. It will be less prone to deep creases and have less linting. Shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration based on the fabric type ( thread size, count, weave type).

The perfect blue-green
I'd have to say this is my favorite color. I have touches of this blue-green all over my house and, via Meadow, in my wardrobe. It's not too cotton-candy looking, and not too grayed out. PERFECT. I've made numerous pieces with this, and have more waiting in my stash.
I bought a length from the doggie bag section, to test out the color. It's just beautiful. I had a piece of broken robin's egg saved. The color is almost the same. I would have named the color "seafoam" but not to quibble... Meadow linen is, IMHO, just beautiful. Many thanks to the people who created this beautiful color for Fabrics Store linen. Hope it will be available for a very long time.

I love this store! I bought this linen to make a dress and tops, and with any left over I will make an embroidered scarf. I can't seem to remember the width of fabrics so I feel like I get a lot for my money!!

This fabric is very easy to work with....made a crib skirt, piping trim and ties.
Beautiful mint color - crib skirt and rail cover trim.
The color is amazing and the drape is not like any other fabric.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
