n 1891, at the age of 43 years, French Post-Impressionist painter Paul
Gauguin left his life in Europe for Tahiti, in search of a mystical
paradise untainted by the trappings of modernity. The paintings he made
here are arguably the most celebrated of his entire career, reflecting
the abundant landscape of Tahiti with a rich palette of fresh, bright
and tropical greens like JUNIPER ,
along with dusty mauves, dark blues and bright oranges. His illustrated
journals that he made in Tahiti demonstrate his deep fascination for
the warm, sunny, vibrant landscapes and deep, oceanic seas that were in
sharp contrast with his gritty, urban life in Paris, as he noted,
“Little by little, civilization is peeling away.”
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I see two colors of greens in the garments made up here in Juniper Green. One seems more of a dark Xmas green, two jackets seem much lighter with more blue in it. In reality, which color is this fabric?

Due to the differences in lighting in the photos it can be hard to grasp the color. Our photos are taken and represent the color as best as possible. We recommend getting a sample of the fabric so you can see it in person.
How much shrinkage can one expect--width and length? Will it continue to shrink after 1st wash and dry?

This fabric can shrink up to 7% on the length and width. We recommend pre-washing thoroughly to remove shrinkage, so depending on your machine and wash settings you may have to pre-wash more than once. FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
