Dense networks of green unfurl across Henri Rousseau's tropical paradise, coloring grasses, plants and leaves with the juicy vibrancy of life. But with the richly enigmatic jewel tone of EMERALD Linen he creates mysterious pockets of darkness, where magic and danger lurk in the shadows.

Rousseau never left France, so his mystical jungle scenes are entirely imagined, but he made frequent visits to the Parisian hothouses, the natural history museum and the zoo, places that lit up his imagination with visions of another time and place. Describing the transformative power of the Parisian gardens he wrote, "When I step into the hothouses and see the plants from exotic lands, it seems to me that I am in a dream."

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Hi, I'm just getting into sewing and am looking for fabric to make a pocket curtain. Would this fabric work for curtains - I'm not necessarily looking for light blocking. Thanks!

I’ve used A LOT of your linens, several hundred yards over the years

This is my first buy of the Rustic Linens. I purchased 3 lengths: black, dried herb and emerald green. All are currently prewashed and pressed needle ready. I washed and dried on hot to maximize shrinkage. All of my sewn linens are machine washed on cool and tumble dried on low. I find significant residual shrinkage as a result of laundering, I wear long full nightgowns and can see them shorten over time. It is my one disappointment with your product. I used to tell myself shrinkage was the price I paid for inexpensive linens. Recent price increases have removed the cost saving motivation, unfortunately.

Fabulous Rustic Linen Blazer

I sewed the Simplicity jacket 9468 in the Emerald Green Rustic C22 linen. This linen is a dream to sew with. It is soft, and is able to hold the structure of a blazer.

Is this Russian linen?

Is all your linen from Russia? If I purchase, am I supporting Russia in its war against Ukraine?

comfortable, durable sheets

I used the flat & fitted sheets patterns on this site, but I used the 4C22 linen for durability (my husband is hard on sheets) and made my seams vertical rather than horizontal. I LOVE sliding into bed each night--these feel so luxurious. The softness and texture are wonderful even after only one washing. I've used this linen for other items, and know it will continue to soften--now I have wonderful linen sheets, custom sized, in my favorite color--such a treat!

Surprising blue-green

Like the other reviews, I was surprised to see a blue-green shade that I would call spruce. To me, emerald sounds like a four-leaf clover or kelly green. On the monitor, the 4c22 rustic emerald looks quite different from the ILO19 medium emerald.

One of my favorite colors, the green is such a rich hue. Goes great with the wild cherry color!

Order a sample: the actual color is much darker with more blue, still beautiful and very rich in looks and feel, I loved it. But, it was not what my customer wanted. The four star is only for the "offness" of the online color...

Blue spruce

The color is bluer than the picture, but rich and deep. The heavier weight is durable, has great body, and drapes really well.

Upholstery

I do small upholstery jobs using the 4C22.. I've recently been making painters smocks, and tried my hand at 18th C style bed hangings. It's an all around perfect textile for each of these projects... it is on the heavy side, yet soft and gets even better after each washing. Very easy to use and the \"antique homespun\" texture makes it perfect for what I use it for.. Weighing the pros and cons, I honestly don't have a single con..

Made shorts from an old 1990s Style pattern and I can verify that we've been gaslit for the past twenty years...we women did have ginormous pockets in the past. I went to the garden and gathered peppers, cherry tomatoes, and a Japanese eggplant plus my keys all in one pocket. The linen held up to the July 104 degree heatwave admirably.
