Pale, hazy tones of dawn swept across Paul Nash's dreamy scenes, suggesting a place where all is hushed and still. The warm, pastel green of WILLOW linen was one of his recurring colors, invoking the cold light of frost-bitten grass, whispery strands of freezing fog or dreamy forms that seem to fade into distant, heavenly skies.

Nash’s early landscapes captured the light and life of real places around him, but towards his later career representation gradually fell away, making room for a personal language of Surrealism that reflected on the deeper meaning of life. Even so, the soft colors of the early morning British landscape stayed with him, taking on mystical, imaginative properties. “My love of the monstrous and magical led me beyond the confines of natural appearances into unreal worlds,” he wrote.

A finer quality 5.3 ounce medium weight 58 inch wide 100% linen that is woven with finer threads, and an increased thread count. The higher thread count makes 1C64 shrink less and gives this linen a very smooth and luxurious look and feel, earning it the moniker "luxury linen".

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers

I've made four aprons with this linen, and want to do more. This one is for my friend, I am her Secret Santa. In the pocket is a little Hallmark angel, and in the other, a handkerchief with her name embroidered on it, that I found at eBay. So easy to sew, great hand, I just love this fabric.
