1C64 OPTIC WHITE Softened - 100% Linen - Middle (5.3 oz/yd2)
A finer quality 5.3 ounce medium weight 100% linen that is woven with finer threads, and an increased thread count. The higher thread count makes 1C64 shrink less and gives this linen a very smooth and luxurious look and feel, earning it the moniker "luxury linen".
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I am so glad this Optic White is back. I just received an order for 6 Altar Cloths and this is the perfect fabric.
Bought this for hand piecing Angel Dresses, lovely feel to it - easy to handle..think i would like it a little softer-a false petticoat underneath solved the problem- embellished with with fine lace. Currently making a Bonnet to go with it... these little dresses are donated - thought it best to be anonymous, sorry so no photo graph
I washed this material twice in hot water and put it in the dryer. I wanted to make sure I attained all the shrinkage possible before preparing the linens for church. My only comment is that I wish it was a little \\\"whiter\\\" than it is. It has a beautiful finish, drapes very nicely and is so easy to iron. One more thing I would like to add: I have never had such wonderful and caring service from any company I've ordered material from as I have from Fabric-Store.com. They truly go above and beyond when you need help or have questions. The reason for the \"4\" is due to the color I had hoped would be whiter.
Lovely linen to use for Communion cloths. It irons out smoothly, takes machine embroidery beautifully, and I'll be ordering more for another set of cloths. Thank you for your advice on using this linen for this purpose.
I just finished 8 Purificators for our Christ Church, Episcopal altar linens. This linen is delightful to work with and presses up smooth as silk. I hand hemmed all of them and machine embroidered the crosses in the center and I'm going to make more this winter as the Altar Guild loves them. We go through Purificators faster than any other small linen as the metal chalice is rough on the fabric, as is the effort to wash out the ladies' lipstick stains. These have a sturdy feeling to them without being rough or "rustic".
I also have been using this fabric to make sacred linens for the Catholic Church in Augusta, KS. Currently, I am making Amice for the parish priest, the Bishop of the Wichita Diocese and his assistant. They love the softness of this fabric. And I love the relaxing feel of the fabric.
I just LOVE 1C64 and its fine hand. It is a real pleasure to work up and sew this fabric. It seems to help you sew it. I am a fairly new sewer, but this fabric makes me look good. It has become my new standard. This fabric is absolutely worth every penny. Thanks fabrics-store for making it even more affordable!
I belong to the Sewing Ministry of a Catholic Church in Fort Worth Texas. We needed to make new Purificators for use during Communion. I had received some of the IC64 in other colors just to test it out and loved the feel and look of it. It also worked up beautifully and washed and ironed almost like permanent press. I was very impressed and decided to order the IC64 in Optic White for the Purificators. Everyone loves working with the fabric and the final result was both beautiful and very functional. We are very pleased and will continue to order from Fabrics-Store.com for their wonderful products, great prices and excellent service.
A very nice alternative to Belgian linen for making altar linens, especially if the parish budget is somewhat limited. Sews up beautifully and while I offer this as 'second best' (see budget comment)it is a very, very good second best indeed! Shown is a handmade altar linen set with a couple of lavender sachets on the side. Ilona
