IS010 Waffle Mist Softened - 54% Linen / 46% Cotton Fabric - Medium (6.2 oz/yd2), Width 84"
Pierre Bonnard’s intimiste paintings invite us into his own
private world, a magical place where color and light roam free. Though
he is perhaps best celebrated for his scorching color palette that
heightened reality into a kaleidoscopic dream, he also brought in
bright, cool shades like that of MIST Linen, letting them breeze through
his canvases with the fresh airiness of an open window.
These pale,
cold colors became a kind of stage set for Bonnard, capturing the
bracing light of France where his spirited life stories would unfold.
Fluffy, dimensional, and simply a joy to live with - you’ll feel like a
sewing maestro when you pull this cloth out of its first dry cycle.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
Greetings! I just ordered this waffle linen to make a set of bath towels. Could you, please, tell me where on your site I can find the instructions? Thanks in sdvance. Maria
Sure thing Maria, You can find sewing instructions on our blog here: blog.fabrics-store.com/2021/07/21/tutorial-how-to-make-waffle-bath-towels/
Can these now sewn towels be put in your softening rinse or will it alter the texture too much so they don't dry as nicely? They feel a bit rougher than initial uses. Thanks
Yes, you can use the softener without impacting its absorption or drying ability
Would this fabric be suitable to make a bathrobe? And if so, I would obviously need to prewash it. Wondering if the pre washing would make it difficult to sew?
Yes, you can use this fabric for a bath robe. We recommend pre-washing to remove the uneven shrinkage that occurs on the length and width. For more information about working with and sewing with this fabric, please see our helpful articles on the Help Center: support.fabrics-store.com/hc/en-us/sections/4421978965645-All-About-the-IS010-Waffle-Weave-Fabric
Math help from my math genius nephew! Desired post-shrink width divided by 0.83 equals pre-shrink or cutting width. Desired post shrink length divided by 0.72 equals cutting length (pre-shrink) Allowing 3" for hems, I wanted my towels to be 32" wide by 62" long. Here's the formula he gave me to account for 17 percent shrinkage on width, 28 percent on length. 32 divided by 0.83 equals 38.5" wide 62 divided by 0.72 equals 86" long
Is this color as ‘blue' as pictured with the sleeping baby?
This color has a slight blue undertone but the picture makes it look bluer than it is. We do have swatches available for purchase to make sure this is the right color for your project.
Could you help me figure out how much to order to make a King Size duvet cover and four King size pillow cases (not shams). Also - would this be suitable for summer trousers? Thank you!!!!
Hello, You can use our free patterns for Duvets and pillowcases using our free patterns. Just search for them in our "Patterns" or by the search box. To figure our yardage for the fabric be sure to add 28% on the suggested yardage to allow for the waffle fabrics shrinkage. When sewing, add 17% on the width of the fabric and 28% on the length if you plan on sewing the unwashed fabric. Alternatively, pre-wash your fabric and cut according to the suggested pattern layouts for an easier, math free sewing experience.
How does one finish the edges of a project made with this fabric so that they come out of the dryer flat?
The hems may be a little wavy due to the stretch but using bias binding ( shown on our blog) or sewing before washing may help.
Was curious about this linen and got some from the Doggie Bag to make a blanket for our toddler grandson who sweats a lot when sleeping. The color is beautiful and it is very absorbent. The baby ends up using it too! It was so much fun taking it out of the drier...gorgeous! Including a picture, if I can figure out how to add it.
I used 4 yards to make towel sets for Christmas gifts. It is amazing how soft and thirsty they become after the first washing. They are lovely, and I know will be treasured by our daughters!
