IC023 is a 59" wide Plain Weave Faille in 100% Cotton.

Faille has the flattened ribbed pattern of grosgrain and the uninterrupted crispy sheen of the silky-smooth surface of Satin. This combination gives Faille the distinctive hand and appearance it is known for - textured, lustrous, luxurious, and crisp.

This cloth has become the fabric of choice for top interior and fashion designers. You have seen it used for formal dresses and gowns; it is also a popular pick for making skirts, blouses, and summer dresses for ladies and girls. Faille has made its name in home textiles and is used for bedding, decorative pillows, and drapes as well.

This fabric is at the higher end of the lightweight categories and weighs a lavish 4.4 ounces a square yard with its remarkable texture and unforgettable feel.

This Faille fabric can be woven from various fibers, but nature-made fibers are far more pleasant to wear and much easier to work with. That’s why we made this out of 100% cotton.

FS exclusive hand-painted artwork is printed with the best available machinery, using reactive dye ink that gives long-lasting colors and is not harmful to the body, to transfer these paintings onto 100% Cotton fabric.

We also brought three solid colors: white, beige, and black, to accompany your printed cloth.

Our collection received rigorous Oeko-Tex certification and is a part of the BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) - ensuring that these items are biodegradable, recyclable, and free of harmful toxins or irritants (good for your family and good for the planet).

All designs are created and available exclusively at F|S.com.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Do you have a linen that's a suitable match for the background color? If not, do you have a mid weight or light weight cotton that matches? I appreciate your help.

I love this fabric, and bought some of it. I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion for thread color. I am handicapped, and even if I weren't, that grey is a VERY hard match. Looking at 700 colors in Gutermann on Wawak's site. And not finding a close match! What did others pick? I want to be able to topstitch and do buttonholes with no clashing. Lol. Thank you!

Hello! We have a Gutermann color card and can Thread match for you. Looking at my list, I find the Gutermann Mara Thread color 37 is the best match as it is a nice blue-purple tinted grey.

Well....I'll answer my own question. I bought some IC023 Simona PARCHMENT, same flowers different background. Had some Wildcherry fabric.....it's perfect. Not too dark or light. The "parchment" background is very elegant. I was going to get the "gray" and noticed it's really a blue background, which is a shame, a true gray would have be gorgeous.

Would IL019 Wildcherry Softened pick up the the red in this fabric........or would you recommend something else? Would like to make a solid color collar accent for this fabric. Since you have access to all the reds and this fabric.......which one pops out at you? Staying in the cool tones and muted...... Thanks

Would this fabric be lightweight enough to use as a lining for a jacket like the Mariana pattern?

Nancy • August 8, 2023
Lauren profile image F|S Team

No this fabric is too structured and thick to be used for a lining. You may prefer the percale fabrics which are lighter.

Just Beautiful

I bought this fabric to create a colonial costume for historic demonstrations. It is really beautiful, more so in person than in the photo. The fabric was on sale which was beneficial, since this is only a costume and yet I wanted it to look as authentic as possible. I will try to post again when the costume is made.

Love it

I had been wanting to try the Faille fabric so when I found it on sale I got some. Made this Cielo top from Closet Core-I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The weight of this fabric is perfect for the structure needed in the sleeves of this top. So of course now I'm looking for another "just right" piece! Thank you for offering such lovely fabrics.

Lovely!

This fabric is a joy to sew with! I'm working on the Cielo top from Closet Core and it's the perfect fabric-just enough body to support the structure of this top. I hope to post photos when I get finished.

Simona gray cloud

I was expecTing a gray background, but is blue, and oh, soooo beautiful! The picture does not do Justice to this fabric. Can't wait to see a garment made out of it. Originally I planned to make me a house dress, but noooo, it will be a church dress, so beautiful!

Jacket made with this lovely cotton floral

Carmel • February 10, 2024

The wight of this fabric is perfect for the structure of the sleeves in the Cielo top from Closet Core. I couldn't be more happy with how this turned out.

Another view of this lovely fabric without the cardigan.

Lauren • July 4, 2023

I used this Fabric to make the Butterick B6674 Dress. This fabric has the right structure for a dress like this yet enough drape to make the skirt swirl and twirl! The fabric also has a lovely pressed rib texture to it giving it a nice texture for special occasion wear. I've paired it with the F|S Nina free pattern in their IL030 gauze linen.
