IC012 Poplin Barbara Black / Mlt Softened - 100% Cotton Fabric - Light (3.4 oz/yd2), Width 59"
IC012 is 59" wide, tight Plain Weave Poplin in 100% Cotton.
It feels smooth and even to the touch, with a light and airy drape.
Poplin is the finest fabric we offer, and it is a great option for summer dresses, blouses, and loungewear.
It tends to be slightly transparent and may require a
lining.
This Poplin is 3.4 ounces a square yard but strong enough fabric to stand up to the washing machine.
FS exclusive hand-painted artworks are printed with the best available machinery, using reactive dye ink that gives long-lasting colors and is not harmful to the body, to transfer these paintings onto 100% Cotton fabric.
We also brought two solid colors: white and black.
Our collection received rigorous Oeko-Tex certification and is a part of the BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) - ensuring that these items are biodegradable, recyclable, and free of harmful toxins or irritants (good for your family and good for the planet).
All designs are created and available exclusively at F|S.com.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
I tried the cotton linen blend for pants but it was too stiff for what I was looking for. I usually only buy linen in a medium weight for pants but I did try the handkerchief linen for a duster but I found it ravels so easy. My question is the cotton poplin in a 3.4 oz weight would it be good for pants like the medium weight linen is. Poplin normally is too stiff for that but I am not familiar with this fabric.
Hello, Poplin can be described to have a papery feeling and structure to it, so if you are looking for drapey fabric for pants, our medium weight linens IL019 and 1C64 are our go-to and closest match to what you are looking for.
What is the width of the cotton fabrics?
Each fabric will have the width listed under the fabric specifications section on each of their respective pages.
I enjoy having shorts in a fun print with multiple colors so I can pair different tops to wear with the shorts. The colors are vibrant, fun. I will wear these while we are in the tropics next winter; noi subdued apparel needed there. I like that the fabric doesn't wrinkle much; I really dislike having to iron much while there. The weave is tight, so using a very sharp needle is a must; I found my size 12 universal needle didn't work and caused skipped stitches. The shorts came out well; overall pleased with my purchase.
I was absolutely smitten when my Fabrics Store cotton poplin came in the mail. As I'm sure is true with a lot of sewers, hand feel holds a lot of weight for me when choosing fabric, so picking online can be tricky. When I opened my package, I literally gasped at how cool and crisp the poplin felt, and the Barbara print was deliciously vivid. My initial plans for it were to make an adorable matching pajama set to effortlessly wear around the house, but then I remembered my preferred sleepwear consists of an oversized sweatshirt and gym shorts, and that isn't changing. Instead, I looked back through some old saved posts for inspiration. I first became enamored with making a quilted bib after seeing Susannah's from sew.sannah back in January of last year, when she modified the Helen's Closet Ashton Top, and then shortly after Meredith from sewliberated made a sawtooth star variation using the Hinterland Dress pattern. When Steph Time released the Side Tie Top, I knew I wanted to make View B to finally realize my quilted bib dreams, but I tucked the idea away for a rainy day as I already had too many other pieces on my to-make list.
