Complimenting colors and motifs are interchangeable, which allows you to create entire collections: bedding and apparel alike.

Timeless designs that will remind you of cherished childhood memories and inspire you to create items for your family that they will pass on to the next generation.

Lightweight, plain weave, 100% cotton PERCALE. This 59 inch wide, 3.6 ounces per square yard fabric has a thread count that was specifically selected to create the ideal balance of durability, breathability, and price.

The cloth is tightly woven using a one over, one under weaving technique that gives you the perfect combination of a crisp hand and smooth surface.

PERCALE is light, crisp, and breathable, making it the perfect fabric for children's garments, apparel, home textiles and of course bedding for everyone including little ones and those of us who are hot sleepers.

Our collection received rigorous Oeko-Tex certification and is a part of the BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) - ensuring that these items are biodegradable, recyclable, and free of harmful toxins or irritants (good for your family and good for the planet). F|S Exclusive designs.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Is this woven tight enough for a dress not to be "see through"?

This fabric may be a little sheer, so a lining is needed.

I would like to make a little blue jacket (Peter rabbit) for my son, I'd like to use this as a lining. Can you recommend a light blue linen to coordinate? I was thinking the allure blue. It's hard to tell through a screen

In the middleweight linen we do not have a lighter blue but we do have 2 lighter blues in the IL020 that you may want to take a look at. We have swatches for purchase that would help to make sure this weight will work for your project. IL020 Light Blue or Powder Blue.

How wide is the fabric? Anxious to also see the answer about bed sheets. Thanks.

Good morning! This fabric is 59" wide. You would need to add panels to the sides to get the needed width for sheets. We have a free pattern on how to do that here: fabrics-store.com/sewing-patterns/classic-linen-bedding-flat-fitted-sheets

Is this cotton percale fabric good, better, or best for making bed sheets? What do you sell that is just right for a queen-size bed sheet without having to piece it together to fit? I keep looking at your fabric wishing to sew bedding. Thank you :-) Deb

Hello! This fabric would be good for sheets, however it would need to have extra width added to the sides to be wide enough. Here is a free pattern on how to add the cloth to get fitted and flat bed sheets: fabrics-store.com/sewing-patterns/classic-linen-bedding-flat-fitted-sheets

Kristine profile image Not really gingham

This might be controversial, but I've always thought of gingham as being a woven pattern. A simple plaid, really, using two colors. I have run into printed "gingham" patterns before, and passed them up because they weren't anything I was interested in. I read the description and may have overlooked it but, I didn't see anywhere it described this as a *printed* "gingham" pattern. I did what I always do and bought a doggie-bag sample to play with. It's a beautiful cotton. I can't dispute that. It's also, however, a printed pattern and not an actual woven pattern. Just beware. I love FS and recommend it to all me sewing friends, but this caught me off guard.

Picture without matching jacket - IC005 Percale Gingham. For the nightgown I used a modified version of Simplicity #9745, and a vintage pattern bought online for the bed jacket.

IC005 Percale Gingham. Remember bed jackets? I do, my grandmother had dozens of them. I thought making one would be nice especially for summer, less fabric than a full length robe. For the nightgown I used a modified version of Simplicity #9745, and a vintage pattern bought online for the bed jacket.

Made this dress using the Lara pattern from NH patterns. I can't wait to wear this in the spring! Love the soft blue gingham color. It is printed on one side but it works for me and I love how the project came out.

For this review I wanted to create something fairy tale-ish without it being kitschy. And I wanted to include different things I made. Wearable, modern dwarfs... So I took my Marseille Sweater I had just finished, my sons hat I had knitted for his first Christmas (both patterns by Petite Knit), and my beret (pattern by My Favourite Things Knitwear) and started playing around. After some time I figured out what I wanted to make. I made a self-drafted quilted vest for E. using one of his jackets as a guide for the right sizing and the Toril Pants from Tauko Magazine for me. (If you don't know about Tauko Magazine yet – this is your sign to go check it out!)

I decided to sew matching pyjamas for my daughter and son made of pink and blue gingham cotton percale. The fabric is weightless, you can easily make either bed linens or pyjamas out of it, it does not electrify, as it's components are natural fibres, which is an important factor to consider when choosing fabric for sewing sleep accessories, especially for children!
