At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.

As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Already threadbare

Only ever washed in cold and line dried but the Demeter dress I made a few months ago (Jan 2024) is already tattering under my arms and looks fuzzy and shlumpy. On the one hand it's very soft, but on the other the dress literally looks like flannel now and see through in places. I'm very confused and afraid to buy this again even though I have a cart full of items since the reviews are so good. Maybe it's my bra? Or the signature finish? Maybe it's because I wear the dress to sleep? I don't wear it that often though...and it's a loose fit. so puzzled.

Hello, The fabric becoming thread bare like this can happen due to a few reasons such as washing with a detergent that has optical brighteners, high abrasion areas, or sewing items on the incorrect or off grain. Sometimes a combination of these factors will increase the wear on your linen.

Gorgeous

This is such a beautiful color!! Bolder and livelier than Ginger--actually what I would call true ginger. And Signature Finish to boot--I'm in love!!

This Terra linen played a major role in the designs. I would say that this color tone Terra perfectly embodies autumn colors for me but then ... I think of beautiful plants flowing over the edges of terracotta pots in the summer and feel it would be selfish to keep this color for only the autumn months. But if we are allowing it to be very Autumnal, this color lent itself perfectly with the other tones I chose – Olive Branch, Angora and Apple Cinnamon. This linen is perfect for heirloom pieces to be cared for and handed down for generations.

I think most of have been on the hunt for the perfect pleated trousers...or at least it seems that way when scrolling my Instagram feed. There is an abundance of patterns out there right now and the fact is, pants are just hard. I am not going to lie, I've bought 3-4 (maybe more!) high waisted, pleated pants patterns, a couple of wide, a couple straight leg but I haven't felt inspired to actually make them, ya know? There was always something I wasn't sure about – how wide the legs were, the direction of the pleats, the overall fit ratio, etc. Then enters the Riva Trouser.

The Shorts view is *chef's kiss*. I cut out my preferred size based on the finished garment measurements (I always prefer less ease), and the entire process from cutting to sewing was seamless. (Like my bad pun?) The precision and thought behind each step, construction process, and finishes of the Riva really show the years of garment drafting and experience behind the pattern.
