At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.

As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

How does the Moroccan compare in color to the sphinx?

It is more blue without the green which gives the Sphinx more of a teal hue.

not going to last 400 years

This is the first item I've actually sewn with, previous orders notwithstanding. The fabric feels really nice, handles well, and is exactly the weight I needed and expected. The reason I'm only giving three stars is that the individual threads were clearly spun from linen roving, not linen strick. Since I true all my yardage by drawing threads before cutting, and use a lot of pulled threads as sewing guides, the thread told the entire story. I would free a thread, pull gently, and the thread would snap within a couple of inches, displaying the fan of fibers seen in roving. I infinitely prefer linen woven from line linen produced from spun strick preparations. However, given the very reasonable price for this linen, I understand why roving thread is used. Line linen fabric generally costs two to three times as much, if it can be had at all. My garment won't last 400 years, but it's not like I'm going to be around for even another 100 years in any case.
