The great Russian 20th century master Wassily Kandinsky pioneered a bold new language of abstraction, one that was firmly rooted in the spiritual world. He saw art as a bridge between the real world and another place beyond the tangible, one that can only be felt through sonic vibrations of color, pattern and light.

As an avid colorist, Kandinsky embraced the full spectrum of the rainbow, but he also recognized the inherent value in subtle, muted shades, which carry qualities of mystery, enigma and the unknown. FUNGI’s soft, warm grey was a recurring feature in Kandinsky’s art, and we often see it nestled in amongst vivid hues to create a quiet, muffling effect, like a warm blanket or a dense layer of cloud.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Hi my screen makes this color look to be a drab nude color not gray?

Yes, different monitors can make the colors appear different from what they are, so we recommend getting samples to see the color in person.

I made a blouse in this color and it was the perfect pick for this pattern: Mash up of the Friday Pattern Co. Patina Blouse & m7976. I simply replaced the collar of the Patina with the flounce from the McCall's blouse pattern, but all the rest was according to the Patina blouse pattern. This linen in the color 'fungus' is gorgeous! I feel that photos don't capture the richness of the actual color. It is a light taupe and it is my personal favorite! I'll post a picture.

I made Size 2 Mykonos Pattern without any mods and I am smitten. The construction is certainly not for the faint of heart with its many steps and finicky chest pocket and collar insertion, but in the end, it comes together cleverly. Get ready for a lot of top-stitching. I used a combination of softened linen in muted colorways fungi, desert sand, angora, and apple cinnamon. Some neat features include the hidden inside chest pocket buttons, the clean curved front hem, and the triangular side panels.

For the Lily dress, I used medium-weight linen in Fungi color. I like everything in this collection: the dress, the skirt and the tunic, I haven't come across any pattern similar to this one on the net so giving thanks to the designers on a good job for this pattern.
