At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Absolutely lovely fabric and a pleasure to work with
I'm new to sewing with linen but now I'm hooked! Fabrics-store.com has a great selection and my order got here surprisingly fast. I made Butterick 6769, a caftan pattern and added a sash and pockets. Perfect for an upcoming cruise.
Made a Meridian Wrap Dress. Cobalt blue did not fade after prewash. Of course it does ravel. Serged edges before washing and after cutting out the dress. Lovely to sew.
THIS is the color I've been looking for- the French blue seen all over in Provence, a perfect periwinkle. Used it to make yet another of my favorite dresses, the Daphnie dress from the Patterns Room. I can't get enough of these luscious linens!
Trying to pick out a clear color from the muddy ones? Here you go. Royal blue with a smidge of royal purple--not ultra clear, but refreshingly clear. This deep blue can still be considered to be conservative even though it is clear and vibrant. I'm looking forward to making linen shirts from this.

This is a brighter shade of royal blue that seems to leap out of the package. The pigment for ultramarine originally came from lapis lazuli (you see it on Egyptian statues and friezes), so it seems like a very pure shade of blue with no admixture of grey or lavender or black. Buy this shade of blue if you like really bright colors.
When I came across Deep Ultramarine, though, it was like something just jumped inside of me. I'm not usually a girl who gravitates towards a bright, powerful blue, but this time was different. The medium weight makes it easy to dream up all kinds of makes. At first, I was thinking maybe a pair of fitted trousers with some sort of pretty bra top or crop (if you've read my Curated By You article, you know what's in my head), or perhaps a classic matching set of a button up and pair of versatile elastic shorts.
Made the Peppermint Pocket Skirt with two yards of Deep Ultramarine. I am a sewing newbie and with the help of my teacher who is my mother we completed this skirt with guidance and teamwork. Thank you Mom.

IL019 Cobalt Blue medium weight linen was used to make a caftan from Butterick 6769. I added pockets and a sash. The linen was a dream to work with and feels great on.
I love the quality of the fabric and the soft finish. The color stayed as strong after a wash, I can't remember it enough! I've made a Zadie jumpsuit and the fabric was a breeze to sew with. Just one note, it's not a good substitute for cobalt blue, don't get tricked into it. It's a lovely blue but it's not close to cobalt.
Meridian Wrap Dress by Papercut Patterns was perfect for this linen. Ultramarine was true to color on website. Signature finish gave it a soft feel.
Made this wrap circle skirt for my mom. A dream to work with this fabric and my first real project! Love this linen, it drapes beautifully and is so flowy.
That is the jacquard I bought as well, and off course the white linen for the accessories. This outfit really pops!
Overalls in ultramarine. As always linen is easy to work and feels so comfortable. Pattern is by Sarah Howard with a few added embellishments.
There can never be too much of ultramarine for me – which very much feels like the motto of this dress, because it's a lot – and I love it.
I always find myself wearing overalls and boiler suits, so I was excited for the challenge of finally making my own! My colour choice was inspired by Bill Cunningham's iconic blue jacket!

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
