A 57 inch wide heavier linen weighing 8.1 ounces it is referred to as canvas weight , this linen is perfectly suited for projects that require a sturdier yet still fashionable linen.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Perfect for a Jacket!
Soft and Substantial; color and texture exactly what I wanted.
I love the color and weight of this. I used it for a bath towel, just sewing a straight line a little over an inch from the sides, allowing it to fray, and using the selvage for the ends. I love the roughness and absorbency, and the quick drying! It is a true deep purple.

About the color: I would not consider this to be royal purple at all... it's more of a plum. I placed this "plum" linen (on the right) with some strips of what I'd consider to be a royal purple knit, and corresponding threads... judge for yourself. If you want a true purple, definitely order a swatch of this one!! That said, I love the color - don't feel like a giant grape wearing it since it's a bit subdued. It would pair nicely with Dove, Optic White, Autumn Gold, or light color in those ranges.
Made a boyfriend jacket out of an old 1980's pattern with this IL90 Royal Purple 8.1oz linen. The fabric is substantial, but supple and soft; did not use interfacing, because I wanted it to look "less constructed" and have a lived in look. It turned out exactly as I hoped; absolutely love it!! I plan to pair it with jeans or leggings and wear it to my son's baseball games (team colors are purple/gold).

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
