This is a 19" wide twin to the 4C22 Rustic linen line.

Woven out of the same size thread and with the same thread density this IL084 is just woven to be narrow. That means less cutting time for you and you can get to the fun part of using your linen items sooner.

At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.

Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a larger variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color. Design created exclusively for F|S.

Narrow width cloth is great for:

  • Shopping bags
  • Purses
  • Placemats
  • Runners
  • Decorative pillows
  • Kitchen towels
  • Appliance covers
  • Potholders
  • Cushions

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

can this be used for upholstery on dining chairs?

Yes, this fabric can be used for covering dining chairs, but this fabric is only 19" wide, so depending on your chairs, you may need a wider fabric. For an alternate fabric with stripes in 59" width, please search for our French Ticking fabric.

Love This Fabric

My friends who are quilters appreciate quality fabric. The towels will be thank you gifts for them and towels for me. I also bought orange and yellow fabric in this weave structure and wrote my suggestions on the orange review. Suggestions: Straighten the cut edge by pulling a weft thread then cut along the line. Stitch the raw edges. Wash on dry on delicate, twice. Remove from the dryer and iron while still damp. As you iron, relax the wrinkles by holding the selvages on both sides and tugging. Then iron with a dry iron. (Ironing while damp with a dry iron tells you I learned to iron decades ago when everything from shirts to sheets were 100% cotton that wrinkled like crazy.)

I make bread bags and matching tea towels out of this fabric. It is wonderful fabric to work with and so many great colors! I sell these in my Etsy shop: SquirrellyGing.etsy.com Stop by and take a look.

LOVE your linen, and love hand embroidery. And.....I have a passion for dish towels.

I bought 3 yards of 7 of the colors and made 4 hands towels each. This will make beautiful gifts and liven up my own kitchen. I love the colors. Like Juicy Fruit Gum. I did not pre wash as it wasn't going to make a difference. I cut 27" widths and surged and turned the ends. I left the salvage on. Quick and easy. The towels dry so fast you really don't have to put them in the dryer. Even in humid south Florida. Posted by Joyce
