IL084 Narrow Width Olivier White/mazarine Blue Mlt-24 Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.1 oz/yd2) - 20.00 Yards, Width 19"
This is a 19" wide twin to the 4C22 Rustic linen line.
Woven out of the same size thread and with the same thread density this IL084 is just woven to be narrow. That means less cutting time for you and you can get to the fun part of using your linen items sooner.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a larger variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color. Design created exclusively for F|S.
Narrow width cloth is great for:
- Shopping bags
- Purses
- Placemats
- Runners
- Decorative pillows
- Kitchen towels
- Appliance covers
- Potholders
- Cushions
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
Does this come in a candy stripe? other colors?
This fabric comes in a variety of colors, simply search for IL084 and all colors will come up.
Can you please send a link to the kitchen towel tutorial you once had? Please and thank you.
I will email the tutorial to the email we have on file for you.
I need to recover a very old ottoman , I need the linen fabric to pleat nicely per the upholsterer. Does this pleat well ? Fabric cannot be too heavy. The original fabric is over 100 years old and is a herringbone linen.
Hello, you may prefer our IL087 French ticking fabric which is also a herringbone weave and pleats nicely. That fabric is wider than this fabric as well.
Will this fabric be heavy for a PJs set?
This fabric is actually too narrow to make a PJ's set unless you are piecing strips of this 20" wide fabric together. We recommend our IL019 fabric for pajamas.
How would this material hold up on chair cushions for a breakfast room?
This fabric is rustic due to its more textured look and feel and durable for projects that require just a bit more substance. So this will hold up well for cushions.
Not only does this fabric make great dish towels, looks great as a pair of summer shorts
This is such a fun durable fabric. They do look like fruitstripe gum! I made tea towels for Christmas gifts. Using a decorative stitch in a matching color on frayed edge, decorative accent stitches above and straight stitch on rolled hem. I'm sure they will be a huge hit. I will be ordering more for myself to make a table runner and placemats.
I made 3 kitchen towels with 3 yards of fabric cut to 32" length. No need to cut the width as it's a narrow fabric. I hemmed the top and bottom with a simple double fold and stitched it down. The remaining 18" of fabric I use for another project. They were laundered and ironed. These are the perfect weight for a kitchen towel and I love them for draping over a loaf of bread as it raises. No loose loops of thread (as a terry cloth towel has) to stick into the dough, and not to heavy a towel to impede the dough from raising. These towels would make great bread bags. I used mine (made from a different color) to wash and dry all the items I used on a heavy baking day and they met the need. This fabric is nicely absorbent, and soft in my hand. I'll be making more for family and friends for Christmas gifts
I LOVE this linen! I washed mine on warm 2 times and semi dried it on medium before sewing. It measured out at 18-1/2" wide after shrinking so much less shrinkage than the past toweling I have purchased. Made dish towels w/ fringed ends. Still working in them as I bought 7 colors and am making 1 of each to start. Then with left over fabric I am making 2 sided coasters with all edges fringed 1/4". I started with 5" squares. I made each side a different color stripe. Orange and pink, etc. just LOVE them all and am making for gifts!
I purchased 10 yards of 8 colors. I made towels...one yard..each after washing (HOT water, HOT dryer) for gifts. The colors are so beautiful, I want to keep them all.. I discovered with my other linen towels...that they make amazing and miraculous lettuce keepers. A discovery born of laziness. I decided to not get out the salad spinner and simply washed and shook off my romaine lettuce leaves...placing them on a linen towel..wrapped and put in the FREE large, thicker produce bag from the grocery store. Let me tell you....lettuce stays crisp, vibrant and perfect for a LONG time. I've kept romaine, iceberg and parsley...in pristine condition for way over a week.... I could have made bag...but the towel is perfect and a multi-tasker. So...8 of my 10 yards became gifts...a towel and a grocery store plastic bag..with use instructions. Extremely easy to make and loved by the recipients! TIP: Wash in unscented laundry detergent...or the lettuce will taste like the detergent smells. Ask me how I know!!!
Shorts are made from DB IL084 narrow width. Size 6 from the Abby pattern. Top is the Charlie pattern made with DB IL020 handkerchief bleached softened linen. This outfit has become my summer uniform. I've made multiple pairs of shorts and this is my go to pattern. I've made the top 4 times and always receive compliments when I go out.
I love this look. So comfortable and it looks great! This is a project I’m doing! Thanks for sharing
