IL073 Narrow Width 967 - 100% Linen Fabric - Very Heavy (9.1 oz/yd2) - 20.00 Yards, Width 19"
This is a 19" wide canvas weight cloth.
Woven out of thick, short staple, linen thread - this fabric is made to scrunch up after the wash and dry. It shrinks about 18% on the weft of the fabric ( widthwise) and 16% of the warp of the fabric ( lengthwise). This gives it the needed density for home textiles.
At a canvas weight of 9.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is a fabulous utilitarian fabric that you will love for its simple rustic beauty and strength. Items made from this fabric will wear like iron and last decades.
Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a large variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color.
Narrow width cloth is great for:
- Shopping bags
- Purses

- Runners
- Decorative pillows

Customer Questions and Answers
I have for many years been disappointed in the kitchen towels I have purchased. I keep going back to my Williams & Sonoma 25 year old towels for absorbency and they have so many holes in them. Saw the reviews on these towels and thought I would give it a try. I washed the material a couple of times and even ironed it (got to figure that out) and thought well this is probably going to be a disappointment. Dried dishes tonight and even my stainless steel pressure cooker and glasses. I was truly amazed at how easily they absorbed the water and left them shiny. All the other towels I have purchased only seem to spread the water around. I will definitely be purchasing more of these and giving as gifts. Maybe get started early for Christmas presents next year. So love this store!
I felt immensely pleased with myself after using this fabric to make kitchen towels; but really, all the credit should go to the fabric itself. Thanks to the reviews on some of the other colorways of this fabric, I knew I should expect some shrinkage, and also that it would be better if I hemmed the fabric before laundering it. I bought four yards to make four towels, and received about eight extra inches of fabric. I evened the short edges along the grain by cutting alongside one thread, then cut the yardage into four equal-length pieces. I left the selvages alone, and turned in each short edge by 1/2 inch, and then 1/2 inch again, and sewed the hems. Only then did I wash the towels, in the hottest water my machine can do. Machine dried after. They shrank from 36x19.25 down to 33x17 inches, which makes for a generous kitchen towel. I love their ruggedness and absorbency. Thank you for offering this product!
