This linen is a heavier rustic natural that comes in one solid and various colored stripe patterns, narrow in width for specialty projects such as placemats, napkins, table runners, bath towels, bath and kitchen accessories even apparel and so much more. Close up image shows fabric texture and shrinkage after a wash.

This is a 19" wide canvas weight cloth.

Woven out of thick, short staple, linen thread - this fabric is made to scrunch up after the wash and dry. It shrinks about 18% on the weft of the fabric ( widthwise) and 16% of the warp of the fabric ( lengthwise). This gives it the needed density for home textiles.

At a canvas weight of 9.1 ounces a square yard this 100% linen is a fabulous utilitarian fabric that you will love for its simple rustic beauty and strength. Items made from this fabric will wear like iron and last decades.

Yarn Dyed fabrics are made using threads that are dyed separately before being woven. This allows for a large variety of patterns and designs that stand out from the base fabric color.

Narrow width cloth is great for:

  • Shopping bags
  • Purses
  • Placemats
  • Runners
  • Decorative pillows
  • Kitchen towels
  • Appliance covers
  • Potholders

Sandra profile image Ripples

I ordered this fabric to make a custom table cover. I washed and pre shrunk it. It was very full of ripples, which I steam pressed out. My customer sent me a picture with a table cover full of ripples. Does this fabric absorb ambient moisture and do it's own thing? I have to make a new one now.

Not a favorite

While I loved the feel of the softened, heavy linen I purchased earlier, this fabric is much coarser and does seem to finish nearly as well in the towels I made. Hopefully, as some indicated, it will soften more other time, but I will not be purchasing this again. Will return to buying the softened, heavy linen.

Nice kitchen towels

Following the advice of others, I made four kitchen towels for myself. The more I wash them the softer they get and are much more absorbent than my other towels. I plan to make more!

MM profile image Wonderful fabric for kitchen towels!

I have made five towels each from the thin brown stripe and the thin blue stripe so far (I ordered four yards of each, but I like them long). I really love that I only needed to hem the ends, as the selvedges take care of themselves on the long edges. I have ordered more to give as gifts, because I am being a bit selfish and want to keep some for myself!

Rippled fabric used to make a custom table runner. It was perfectly pressed. It took on a mind of its I own and rippled. This does not hold its shape.

Loved this fabric. Unwashed, it has the perfect sizing for a lined tote. I'll be ordering more because friends are requesting I make one for them.

Embroidered on natural linen and then sewed them onto the linen towels. The feel and smell of these towels is lovely. I will be doing the same for the other stripes I purchased as they will be much welcomed gifts for friends.

Made a few sets of hand towels as Christmas gifts. I thought they were ok(a little rough) and definitely need to be ironed every time they are laundered. The recipients of these towels RAVED about them then and still now! I guess I will be making more for other friends. I just don't like the necessity to iron at each washing but this is a lovely fabric!
