Bleached color is achieved by "stripping" the natural pigment out of the fibers( just like you would with bleaching hair). What you are left with is a very soft shade that is just ever so slightly an off-white color.
Bleached is the basics of any project and loves being dyed. It is actually what we use to dye the colors. A truly versatile base and a must-have addition to your fabric repertoire.

This 2.5 ounce slightly lighter, more open weave gauze has the same strength, durability and versatility as its counterpart IL030, but with its own unique look and feel.

Perfect for Elizabethan Smocks

Hand-sewing this fabric into Elizabethan smocks has been a powerful joy. I have a project on deck that involves four entirely hand-stitched smocks, and after finishing the first one, I find myself greedily looking forward to cutting the second one out today. I pre-washed the fabric on the hottest setting and dried it on high heat; it is whisper-soft, steam-irons up perfectly and is simply a dream to work with.

just too thin

i have not been able to like this fabric. it unravels faster than any fabric i've known. it's crooked, and does not cause happiness. i won't buy it again.

Good Linen

I love this linen. I made 2 scarfs and they came out perfect. One for myself and one for BFF.

Has anyone tried making a shower curtain out of this weight? or do you think the handkerchief weight would be better?

Very sheer

I bought this thinking I could make some lightweight summer tops, but it is VERY sheer. It has a great hand to it after a couple of washings, but I would have to double it to make it wearable. I guess I'll save it to make tea towels or hankies, or it would be perfect for baby gowns.

Beautiful gauze!

This is a beautiful, loose-woven gauze that floats like a dream. It tightened up a bit after 3 washing and tumble dries, which is what I was hoping for. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because there was SO MUCH lint. I had to empty the lint trap a few times during the drying cycle. I realize most reasonably priced linens are woven from shorter fibers these days, but it's still a little disappointing. Nevertheless I am very satisfied with my 8 yards of linen gauze and look forward to wearing them as an 18th century chemise a la reine! Perfect for a sweltery southern summer. PS. I would love to see a linen voile offered!

Material itself is nice

Though my material is nice, I am a little unhappy with the cut. It was not a skimpy cut, but it was quite crooked. By the time it was washed twice and straightened, it came to a bare three yards. In two washings and dryings, I took close to a cup of lint from my dryer. That doesn't alarm me much, but I will begin to notice skimpy cuts and crooked cuts. There was also a tiny profit on the very expensive mailing. It arrived in a USPS priority mail envelope. After a week, why not just send it regular mail and cut the shipping rate? Just thoughts of possible solutions for all parties. And please, cut carefully!

Sheer Curtains

I always loved the feel and look of linen for curtains and also wanted the light to get through. IL021 is the perfect fabric. Washed twice with Oxiclean white revive to get read of the ivory tone. Easy to iron and work with.

Very pleased with this linen very strong yet light weight. Have not made anything yet. My plans are to make a blouse and attempt heirloom sewing using a wing needle. I am so fascinated with this technique. Looking forward to starting my project. Will post a picture when finished.

Very nice.

I was a little worried when I received this fabric. It was rather stiff. But after washing it twice and machine drying, the fabric softened up nicely. I'm looking forward to using it in my project.
