Vivid, intense color emanates from British artist Patrick Heron's work, infusing it with glowing, atmospheric light. The rich, deep violet shade of FIESTA MARINA Linen was a tool in his belt that he would employ to create pockets of cool, wintery darkness, cut into with shards of vivid, acid bright color, or intensified further with dark shadowy greys.
Like many artists from the St Ives School of Cornwall, Heron merged the languages of European, avant-garde abstraction with references to the wild Cornish landscape, producing works of art that truly capture a spirit of time and place.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Purple, my favorite color

I was so excited when I got my fabric, the color was better than expected. I love working with this linen, so easy to sew. I've already planned on using it for a new underdress for my Viking garb.

Darlene profile image True Purple

If you are a lover of the truest of purple like I am then this is the one for you. It is fabulously delicious and I used this with rough edges as a simple throw. There is nothing as nice as light linen over you as you settle in for a long series on Netflix or Prime.

Lovely!

This midweight linen is perfect for the sleeveless overgown I made. It's lightweight enough that it won't be too hot, but heavy enough that it drapes beautifully.

I love purple

I used this for throws to cover my patio table and chairs. They're a quick and easy way to assure that my guests' clothing doesn't get dirty because I didn't clean the furniture before they came over. Because I'm 'energy-efficient' like that. :-) The table cloth is left clipped on and the others are left folded on each chair. They've been left outside for months in western exposure and don't seem any worse for the wear. Lightweight and durable, too.

Who wants to go back to wearing uncomfortable clothes? Not me! Smooth, cool fabric. Blue-violet. Looks good on "winter" color season people.

Here's IL019 Fiesta Marina laundered vs new. There's not a lot of color loss after warm pre-wash and hot dryer 3 X.

Beautiful fabric. This blouse's look does not do justice to the fabric or the pattern. I did not have time to wash the fabric. So made it 1" bigger than the size needed and will see how Lets see how it turns out. Will post a better picture once I get a chance

The colour looks more blue here than it really is. Beautiful to wear at this weight.

I made this A-line skirt out of IL019 Fiesta Marina - the fabric ended up being a bit more purple than I anticipated (I thought it would be more of a true periwinkle), but I like the outcome etsy.com/shop/TiliaAmericanas
