Post-war British artist Patrick Heron was a colorist at heart, creating noisy, expressive paintings that seem to fizz and pop with life. He often brought sombre shades of purple, indigo and blue into his abstract paintings, letting it meander in velvety ribbons across white backgrounds, or seep into endless pools of darkness.
BLUE ICE’s cool shade of purple was a recurring color in Heron’s late paintings of the 1980s, conveying the deepest of emotional responses to the world around him. “I think this world is magical,” he wrote, “Colour, form, space, relationships- these elevate life. They energise. They elevate my whole consciousness…I think art heightens the potential of the actual.”
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 58 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

I made two backless dresses with senses of motion and flow. Linen is the most down to earth fabric to me, it could be really quiet or rather loud. Same quality as water. This garment is made of big curves and volumes to capture the motions of waves.
Blue Ice. What a beautiful color. The service here is impeccable, I have never had an issue. They label what they send to you, It is so appreciated. I can not wear man made fabrics, sewing a new linen wardrobe. I love this linen, easy to sew. I use a bit longer stitches in case I have to rip, I can't see the 2.2. You will not ne disappointed in this fabric or this company. The colors .....

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
