Jacquard cloths are created by weaving different color threads to create intricate patterns - or paintings that are woven with thread. These are harder to weave and are considered an "heirloom" fabric due to the craftsmanship involved in their creation.
This fabric is super fun to work with - making every project look like a work of art. The trick? Just throw it in the wash!
When you receive it - the cloth will be 65 inches wide, flat, and 2-dimensional. After the wash and dry - the design will "lift up" giving the fabric a 3 dimensional appearance.
In order for the fabric to "lift up" it is woven in a way that when it is washed and dried - it will shrink more than plain weave linen giving it the volume needed to be 3 dimensional. This cloth you can expect 18% shrinkage weft (width of the fabric); and 16% warp (length of the fabric). Shrinkage is based on a warm wash and low-heat dry.

I made hand towels with this lovely and easy to work with fabric. Very nice feel. I made fringe, which is a bit time consuming, but adds a nice finish. Would definitely use again.
The weave is looser than I was expecting, but the pattern is gorgeous!
Tired of sour bath towels and the need to dry them in an electric clothes dryer? These towels dry perfectly on a rack inside in no time. Serge or zigzag the raw edges before you launder. Wash and dry on 'high" before you cut out. Comfortable to use and very elegant. I simply turned all the edges twice and sewed with a straight stitch and/or a zigzag.
This group of linens is the most beautiful. Just finished my simple bed spread and slept under! What a feeling! Love how this fabric crinkles! I have made wash cloths, kitchen towels and throws and have more left to work with.

Just had our vintage Danish dining room chairs recovered and this choice of fabric is amazing! The original fabric was a dull beige burlap looking fabric, the 1st recovering was bright red, and now I feel like I have brand new chairs! Love it!

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
