4C22 Rustic Vineyard Green Fs Premier Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.1 oz/yd2) - 20.00 Yards, Width 57"
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
The Premier Finish undergoes a two-step process to give the cloth a luxurious, supple feel right out of the box.
First, we apply a softener to give the fabric a silkier surface. Then, strong blasts of air are blown into the woven cloth. This beats up the fibers to make them softer and mimics the fiber bending process that the fabric undergoes when you've used it a lot.
This finishing process gives the fabric a much softer and more luxurious hand. It will be less prone to deep creases and have less linting. Shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration based on the fabric type ( thread size, count, weave type).

Customer Questions and Answers
Would this linen (4C-22) be too heavy for an 8 foot table (30" wide)? Maybe IL019 Softened or Signature finishes would be better? But.....Vineyard Green doesn't seem available in IL90 Softened or Signature anymore. (I have some IL019 Softened in my stash that I bought a few years ago which 9s great, but I do not see it listed in your current offerings.) You do offer IL019 "Premier finish" in vineyard green....how does that compare to the Softened or Signature that I have previously purchased? I am worried that the heavier Rustic 4C-22 linen will be too heavy for an 8'table!
4C-22 Rustic Linen is not to heavy for the tablelinen , we also recommend to check our medium weight of IL019 . You can order sample swatches for both articles and check the weight of linen
Would the heavy (7.1) linen make a good slipcover for a chair?
Yes, confirming 4C-22 is good weight cover for the chair.
Another of my favorite colors. Also, I love this heavy weight linen, it works perfectly for my bags. I made this one using purple fabric for the exterior, and the lining is made from medium weight natural linen (also FS fabric!). I sell these bags on my Etsy shop ChooseLinen.
I am in the process of making my first Paola jacket in this 7.1 oz linen. (I made a sample garment in 8 oz denim as a test to see what changes I'd like to make.) I washed the fabric in warm water and dried it on medium. The shrinkage was 2" per yard in length. Minimal if any change in the width. I had ordered samples of various colors. My yardage was only slightly darker than the sample but not enough for concern.
I used this linen for a Wiksten shift dress and it was perfect. I'm a repeat buyer now!
Love this heavier weight linen, gorgeous colour. Great service, only complaint is I wish the postage was way cheaper internationally.
This fabric is heavy but super soft after a couple of washes. Perfect weight for a robe and towels I made. Very satisfied.
I've been buying linen here for years. My business has recently been booming, and fabrics store always comes through for me, both in customer service And quality. I cut my items exactly along the weft threads and I Could not ask for better quality! Thank you Maureen, and all who work for us during these crazy times! Stay safe and well....
I am working on a Pilgrim outfit for the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower landing, & this heavyweight linen is the perfect weight & color for the bodice. It washes up great, & I can't wait to get started!
I love your softened linen for clothing. I am an indie clothing artist and would like to be able to forward fabric suggestions to my clients. Could you set up a forwarding email link in the store
I made some bath towels for my husband and I ...we both are completely sold on never going back to that nasty old terrycloth! We love these towels and sing their praises to even strangers we run into...ha! They also look lovely, almost artistic, hanging on the towel rack when not in use. I love linen and it has been a life-changer for us!! This color is very rich and beautiful. I have dark blue walls in one bathroom and it is a lovely combination with the green towels.
I bought this for the color, but found the photo is not accurate at all. Its a much cooler, faded army green, and not the vibrant warm olive that you see in this photo. The funny thing is, they have an accurate picture of it on the Vineyard Green IL020 medium weight linen, and you'll see it is different than the Vineyard Green 4C22 that you see here. The medium weight one is accurate. I was pretty disappointed, as I have been looking for the warm olive for a while. It's beautiful linen, there was one hole in the weave due to some serious slubbing, so I will just cut around that part. It has a glorious drape and feel though. I just wish they would update the photo to be more accurate to the color, like their medium weight linen vineyard green photo
Hello! I make vintage style newsboy caps and my customers have been very happy with the quailty of your linens. Thank you so much! Here is one I made using the vineyard green 7.1 heavy linen. Kind Regards, Jonathan Cordova Cordova Caps
This is a gorgeous hat. Can I buy the pattern somewhere? You did a great job.
This is a 14th Century Cotehardie and the fabric is fantastic. Being in the Society for Creative Anachronism, having a breathable (and 'period') fabric is a MUST and this linen absolutely fits the bill. I *love* the color and the fit of this linen (the white is IL019, as well). I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone doing Recreation or Renaissance type clothing. It's hands-down, the best. I also like the subdued color of this green.
