4C22 Rustic Bluestone Fs Premier Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.1 oz/yd2) - 20.00 Yards, Width 57"
British painter and printmaker Gillian Ayres took the 20th century British art world by storm, creating wild and energized abstract paintings with all colors of the rainbow.
Blue was one of her favorites, particularly grey-tinged shades of blue like BLUESTONE, for their ability to convey the illusion of sky or water sweeping through her vast and densely worked images. While she cycled through a range of styles, from Abstract Expressionist scrawls to Matisse-like patterns that seem to dance and shimmer with life, blue cropped up again and again, a familiar thread linking her art as it evolved through the decades.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
The Premier Finish undergoes a two-step process to give the cloth a luxurious, supple feel right out of the box.
First, we apply a softener to give the fabric a silkier surface. Then, strong blasts of air are blown into the woven cloth. This beats up the fibers to make them softer and mimics the fiber bending process that the fabric undergoes when you've used it a lot.
This finishing process gives the fabric a much softer and more luxurious hand. It will be less prone to deep creases and have less linting. Shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration based on the fabric type ( thread size, count, weave type).

Customer Questions and Answers
Is this a good weight for beach style pants?
We have used this fabric for relaxed wide leg pants as seen in our Akira pattern. For something light and breezy for summer, try our IL019, 1C64 and IL020 fabrics.
Where does your linen originate from? Is it organic?
Our linen is grown and processed throughout Eastern Europe. All our fabrics are OEKO-TEX certified. Our products are currently not certified Organic
Yes - I am also curious if your linen is GOTS certified, and if not are you working toward that or any other certifications?
We are not GOTS certified. Linen is made from the flax plant which is a natural fiber but our products are currently not certified Organic. All our fabrics are OEKO-TEX certified. The OEKO-TEX organization tests our products for over 100 harmful toxins and chemicals before approving them for public use.
Hello, is the heavyweight too thick for making pinch pleat unlined drapes? Thanks!
4C-22 will work great to make pinch pleat draperies and it's not hard to finish pleats in sewing
This fabric is simply divine, heavy enough for a jacket, but oh so soft. The color is a muted medium blue that contrasts well with brighter color. I used Paola jacket pattern (free from Fabric-Store.com) and modified the lenghth longer and to slightly A-line. Also changed pockets.
