4C22 Rustic Insignia Blue Fs Premier Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.1 oz/yd2) - 20.00 Yards, Width 57"
The inky depths of INSIGNIA BLUE linen seeped dark stains into Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai's
evocative landscapes, lending them deep bass tones that hum with melodic
resonance.
The color, known today as Prussian, or Berlin blue, swept
across Europe in the 18th century, causing what some called a "blue fever", as it infiltrated painting, wallpaper prints, stamps and
even the Army Uniform for the Prussian military.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
The Premier Finish undergoes a two-step process to give the cloth a luxurious, supple feel right out of the box.
First, we apply a softener to give the fabric a silkier surface. Then, strong blasts of air are blown into the woven cloth. This beats up the fibers to make them softer and mimics the fiber bending process that the fabric undergoes when you've used it a lot.
This finishing process gives the fabric a much softer and more luxurious hand. It will be less prone to deep creases and have less linting. Shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration based on the fabric type ( thread size, count, weave type).

Customer Questions and Answers
This is an answer to a question about the French Core Coat. It's. PDF pattern on Etsy.
Which linen product would be best for a blanket? Thank you.
This fabric makes an excellent throw, along with our IL090 for something with more heft. A special mention goes to our IL097 100% linen fabric which is designed especially for luxurious blankets
Where did Jane find the French Chore Coat pattern made in Insignia Blue? I love her jacket!
Hello, We're sorry no more information was provided to us, and the pattern is not one of ours.
Would you recommend the 4c22 linen for bread bags? If so, should the fabric be prewashed? What would be the finished measurements on a yard of material?
4C-22 is great chose for the bread bag, we recommend to prewash fabric before sewing the bag . The yard is 36" long by 57" wide . You always need to consider shrinkage around 7-10% .
This picture is the 7th garb piece I made for this group.
I ordered the insignia blue in the heavier weight to make the French Chore Coat because the mid weight was sold out. It turned out great. I used a very lightweight interfacing for the collar and facing. I recommend cutting the pattern very carefully paying very close attention to the weave of the fabric. Very happy.
