4C22 Rustic Chocolate Softened - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.1 oz/yd2) - 20.00 Yards, Width 57"
Warmth permeates Rembrandt van Rijn's paintings as golden, syrupy candlelight falls and disappears into velvet brown shadows. CHOCOLATE
linen mirrors the earthy and enveloping darkness in Rembrandt's
paintings, which swarms around the light and gives it torch lit
radiance.
At a heavier weight of 7.1 ounces this 100% linen is referred to as Rustic due to its more textured look and feel. Durable and perfect for projects that require just a bit more substance.
The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Customer Questions and Answers
I just received my third order of chocolate brown. Some time ago I posted pictures of a blouse, and a Phoebe top that I made with this fabric; the blouse is mine, and the top is for my sister. I really like the Phoebe top in the brown, and I decided that I need a Phoebe in this beautiful color!
I used a lot of heavy weight linen, including this chocolate brown one. I've made kitchen aprons, towels, decorative pillowcases and tote bags. If interested, you can see them on my Etsy shop: ChooseLinen.etsy.com
I just finished a pair of pillowcases using the chocolate brown linen ; the fabric js wonderful to work with. I like the heavier weight of the fabric got the cases. I used the pattern in the files for them, but I think the picture showing the placement of the ties is deceiving . It may be that I didn't understand the directions, but it looks like the ties are folded in half. I sewed them like this and had to take them out and resew. I have used the lighter weight linen and made seven dresses for me, and two for my sister plus several blouses!
Brown hasn't been my first choice in fabrics, until I saw this linen. Loved a suit posted in reviews, decided to make a romper for my daughter in law. Used the Olivia pattern by untitled thoughts, lined the top in oasis- it's just fabulous. She looks amazing, the linen is fantastic. Pic posted. Now I'm making a strand coat by merchant and mills, the back is black heavy weight & the front is this luscious brown. I love this weight, and this color- going to make a whole array of apparel for family and especially for me-!
I was making a pair of medieval re-enactor pants for my husband and decided I'd try linen. I was worried because linen is known to fray, but I was going to also give french seams a go. Since this was my first attempt to make a wearable garment with french seams, it actually worked to my advantage, since the few errors around curves were easy to manicure with a small pair of scissors rather than having to rip a seam open and redo short sections. The color is also beautiful and the texture gives the pants a very authentic look.
Waves and wild dungarees in chocolate—washed once before making. Cloudy day spring lighting shows the color fairly accurate. I pieced a yard and half yard so there's an extra seam on the leg—I'm wearing to see where I should hem the ankle. The fabric is easy to sew, but switch to a mid to heavy weight needle and longer stitch (I got lazy and broke a lightweight needle when going over four layers.)
