IS038 Florenzia Yellow Ochre - 75% Linen / 25% Cotton Fabric - Very Heavy (9.1 oz/yd2) - 20.00 Yards, Width 111"
Our Florenzia Jacquard group has an old-world charm that fits beautifully into our modern world.
Jacquard cloths are created by weaving different color threads to create intricate patterns - or paintings that are woven with thread. These are harder to weave and are considered an "heirloom" fabric due to the craftsmanship involved in their creation.
This fabric is super fun to work with - making every project look like a work of art. The trick? Just throw it in the wash!
When you receive it - the cloth will be flat and 2-dimensional. After the wash and dry - the design will "lift up" giving the fabric a 3 dimensional appearance.
In order for the fabric to "lift up" it is woven in a way that when it is washed and dried - it will shrink more than plain weave linen giving it the volume needed to be 3 dimensional.

Customer Questions and Answers
I love this fabric and the richness of it! I ordered 4 yards for a king size bedspread. I love that it is so wide and no seams are on top of the bed. After washing and finding that it did shrink about 20" in width I ordered another 4 yards. I cut the second order down the middle and sewed on each side of the 1st 4 yards. Then I cut off the excess and hemmed and rounded the bottom corners. In getting 4 yards I only had about 12" to turn back at the top. With the fabric I trimmed off each side I made pillow shams! I LOVE it!!
I did the same thing as the other commenter here. Purchased 3 yards, hemmed the edges (no need to trim the selvedge if you do 1/2" folds), mitred corners. Makes a fabulous coverlet. The colour is slightly less rich than I hoped but still lovely. I would love to see a version of this in blue tones and I would happily make a second blanket.
I returned this after buying it for my drapery project. The fabric felt too loose to manage on the large-scale project I'd planned. It seemed to me that it would be pretty difficult to keep track of the grainline. Also, because of the loose weave and multiple colors in it, the visual impact up close was too coarse for my tastes. Reluctantly I have sent it back.
I followed Rebecca's lead and made a thrown for my daybed from a Doggie Bag purchase of 1.5 yards after noticing the 111 inch length. It's the perfect amount for a daybed or twin. As stated, the hot water wash give the fabric its 3-D texture.
