Customer Questions and Answers
Specifications state the pattern is available to size 28-30. When downloaded, it is not available in the larger sizes.
We're sorry about that. Some of our free patterns have different size availability than our more recent patterns
I love that most of your patterns show a variety of women, so you can gauge what you might look like in a given pattern. But sadly, all of the pdf photos on the website show only slim, relatively flat chested women, which makes it hard for those of us with fuller busts or figures to gauge whether the pattern may be appropriate for us or not. Would you please show all patterns, including the pdfs, with people of various figure types in future? Thank you.
Hi there, I've just seen that this fabric is out of stock. Would it be available soon? Thanks
The fabric used to make this pattern is out of stock and we do not intend on restocking it. A great alternative would be our IL019 mediumweight linen.
Is there a page that has the yardage requirements?
Some of our earlier patterns don't have yardage listed in the .pdf booklet. For these, you can print and cut your pattern pieces and lay them out in a mock layout according to your fabrics width, to ascertain your yardage.
Bonjour, Ma taille française est 36 , quelle est la taille correspondante aux Etats Unis , s'il vous plaît ? Un grand merci
Hello, we recommend comparing your body measurements to the size chart to find your best size as not all sizes convert well.
Hi. I'm new to the world of sewing and I'd like to make this but I'm not sure how much fabric I will need. Can anyone please tell me how I figure this out?
Our blog tutorial recommends 2.5 yards for the Dress :)
Hello, Thanks so much for this free pattern! Is it possible to make it out of a viscose fabric?
We design and test our patterns specifically for our linen fabrics. You can make them from other similar fabrics if you desire.
Hi. Should the button plaque be cut on the fold twice and then opened up for the two parts? I hope that is clear! Thank you Susan Kourea
Yes, you will cut 2 on the fold for this pattern :)
I have used a couple of different patterns from your website. They were very nice fitting. This pattern runs extremely small! I did not measure the pattern before cutting and have made a dress I cannot wear. I am very disappointed but will check the measurements next time.
I have made several things with fabrics patterns and they were true to size but this one was VERY small. I had to use 2-3 sizes up
Hi I have downloaded the pattern but I cant see any instructions. I am using an iPad not a computer. Can you help please?
Hello, The instructions are located on our blog. I've popped the link for you below, and I've sent it to you in an email in case you miss my reply here :) blog.fabrics-store.com/2016/10/07/diana-linen-button-down-pleated-dress-tutorial/
I just downloaded and printed the pattern for the Diana dress. I'm going to make it out of Montana Grape fabric and put hemstitched patch pockets on it. Thank you so much for the excellent instructions for printing and the free pattern!
Hope to see photos!
Hi, I would love to make this dress, but I don't see the chart telling me how much fabric to purchase. Can you give me a link?
Hi! This is one of our earlier patterns when we didn't have a size/fabric chart included in the PDF. The sewing tutorial says 2.5 yards for size 6 US - you can email us askfabrics-store.com what size you'd like to make and I will ask our seamstress how much fabric she suggests. The sewing tutorial can be found here : blog.fabrics-store.com/2016/10/07/linen-button-down-pleated-dress-tutorial/
I love this Diana pattern so much I made another one! The one I made with cat pattern fabric received a lot of compliments and friends ask me where I bought the dress, so I referred them to your website's free pattern download! I tweaked the neckline to a rounder look instead of a V-neck; and changed button front so it only opens down to the waist. I used a cotton linen blend fabric so it doesn't wrinkle much. the pattern is great and the tutorial helps heaps! Thanks you so much!
I have always wanted a mustard linen dress and saw one I really liked on ASOS but was way out of my budget. When I came across this pattern, I realised it was time to make one for myself. As a sewing novice, I found the pattern easy to follow and it really helped me gain confidence in making button holes (a technique I have been avoiding for years). I also added front pockets. Great fit and I highly recommend this pattern.
