IL098 Jacquard Loire Natural / Crimson Fs Signature Finish - 100% Linen Fabric - Heavy (7.9 oz/yd2) - 1.50 Yards, Width 61"
A decorative interpretation of the Arboreal motif made up of entwined foliage, flowers, acorns, and berries in the Natural - Red color way.
The engineering of this cloth allows the Jacquard to be read equally well from either side - you have a reversible fabric that changes its dominant color scheme depending on what side you pick.
Lying in a haphazard pile at a Parisian flea market was all that remained of a glorious collection of textiles that once graced the halls and environs of Loire castle.
The remnant was pulled from that pile and brought to our studio where we were able to translate the complexity of design and texture to the Jacquard loom, and the 100% linen Loire Collection was created exclusively for F|S.com.
The different weaving techniques utilized to create this fabric make it 3-dimensional - you have a textured cloth that communicates the motif visually and tactilely.
The intricacy of the design permits the cloth to be used in any direction, with the motif maintaining its representation regardless of the angle.
This cloth is 61 inches wide, delicate to the touch, and a heavy weight to last generations.
Our FS Signature Finish was developed exclusively for us using a special process that makes this linen super soft with a comfy, classic look you'll love at first sight.
As a bonus, this process removes almost all of the initial shrinkage, giving you more fabric to get your projects done.
This finish makes the linen as soft as butter. Yep, 100% linen that feels and drapes and sews as no linen you have ever encountered. Because the fabric has been pre-shrunk for you - it will be less than the base cloth width.

Customer Questions and Answers
Hi, would this fabric be good for bath towels?
Yes, being 100% linen, which is a thirsty fiber, you can use this for luxurious bath and hand towels alike.
Karen, your skirt is beautiful. How much fabric did you use to achieve the effect you wanted with the gores and pattern? Is this skirt knee length or longer?
Do you think this would work to cover the seats of dining room chairs? They were my grandmother's. The chairs were originally caned, but she had them upholstered. I have them now and they need recovered.
This fabric is perfect for this purpose :)
Is this fabric too heavy for a bias cut skirt? I'm thinking of Style Arc Genoa pattern
Hello, you may be best asking the pattern company for specific weights for that skirt as it isn't listed on their site. If you were to use this fabric for say our Ida Bias cut skirt, then we would recommend it, and you may like to use a lightweight linen or cotton for the waistband lining.
I love this fabric. The drape is lovely, and I needed something to wear to a wedding. So I looked online for a pattern for a six gored skirt. I found some tutorials for making one to my measurements (very simple), made a muslin, and then cut this fabric. I matched the seams based on what part of the pattern I wanted at the waist, but I did not match based on the pattern itself—that is, I didn't want to recreate the lattice pattern of the fabric. Instead, I wanted to narrow the distances between matching elements., creating new patterns that opened up to the original pattern toward the bottom of the skirt. The result is lovely. I'm going to make a black linen crop top to wear with it—the skirt is very high waisted, so my midriff won't show.
