Pale, hazy tones of dawn swept across Paul Nash's dreamy scenes, suggesting a place where all is hushed and still. The warm, pastel green of WILLOW linen was one of his recurring colors, invoking the cold light of frost-bitten grass, whispery strands of freezing fog or dreamy forms that seem to fade into distant, heavenly skies.

Nash’s early landscapes captured the light and life of real places around him, but towards his later career representation gradually fell away, making room for a personal language of Surrealism that reflected on the deeper meaning of life. Even so, the soft colors of the early morning British landscape stayed with him, taking on mystical, imaginative properties. “My love of the monstrous and magical led me beyond the confines of natural appearances into unreal worlds,” he wrote.

At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces this 59 inch wide 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

For the fabric, I wanted something really light and bright. Bright so the color doesn't soak up too much heat and light – who am I kidding – with me there is always a bit of a sunburn involved on the beach. And sunburn and heavy clothes is a big no no for me (- the only alternative is to be naked in a dark room marinating in AfterSun lotion or Aloe Vera).

I've been using this linen for years in various weights and colours and I'm never disappointed. I used the willow with crimson accents and binding to make a lengthened corded and quilted Regency short stay. The Crimson accents ended up giving it an assassin's Creed vibe (which doesn't bother me at all)

perfect weight for summer

I've been using this midweight linen in various colors for sleeveless button front blouses for hot, humid weather. It is perfect....not at all sheer but still light and cool, it allows good air flow and I find that even on the hottest days it keeps me cooler than even the cotton lawns or voiles that I was previously using.

So lovely

I ordered this along with the olive linen. The color is beautiful. It is a bit more vibrant in person than on the website. I am so pleased with everything I have ordered from your website. Thank you!

When I first saw the fabric after I ordered it, I immediately knew that I wanted to sew something that says "Hi – I'm a cool and fun mum, and also I'm a confident woman". So I ended up sewing the Oona Dress from VikiSews.

I created the napkin rings in a Clay class I am taking and then I needed napkins to go with them!! This Willow green was perfect. This is the first time I have ever worked the hem stitch! I am excited to use these on our Thanksgiving dinner table!! :)
