IL019 DOVE Softened - 100% Linen - Middle (5.3 oz/yd2) - 2.00 Yards
Sale price: $19.52 per item (15% off)

DOVE linen's near white has just a hint of turquoise and grey, mimicking the pale, salty light of JMW Turner's stunning Venetian marine views. Known as the 'painter of light', Turner was entranced by Venice, with its green-blue water reflecting the sky into illusions of infinite, endless space.
At a medium weight of 5.3 ounces, this 100% linen is versatile enough to be referred to as an All Purpose or Do it All linen. With its smooth look and tighter weave, this linen is neither sheer or heavy, but just the right in-between weight you will need for a variety of projects.

Absolutely perfect shade of palest sea blue! Fabric great quality weight for what I needed!
I wasn't sure if "Dove" or "IL019 MEADOW" would work best for my clients project so I ordered a bit of both. This shade is the perfect pale version of Meadow so they compliment each other perfectly & work great for creating monochromatic items, such a drapes trimmed in the deeper shade or throw pillows with cording. The linen itself is a quality mid-weight linen with beautiful drape, consistent dye saturation throughout the length, & average shrinkage after wash/dry. That being said I'd recommend ordering an extra 10% (if not more) since dye lot verification isnt available and is bound to change for each roll & shrinkage will depend on the method of manufacturing. The sales are wonderful but I've noticed the larger the discounts the higher the shipping cost. Between 2 orders; The "limited time discount SF linen" had a higher shipping cost than my other order which contained more yards than the SF sale order. I wish they were more honest about the actual discount instead of trying to make up for it with inflated shipping, but despite that disappointment I'll continue to order whenever I want something for my home or its most cost effective to order from here than buying a whole lot from our manufacturing partners.
So beautiful - online now to order more!!!
I bought the linen for curtains and the quality of the linen was very nice. My only issue is the color, I should have ordered a sample before buying, because the linen is actually more baby blue than dove gray. I recommend the linen but encourage anyone ordering.a significant amount be sure to order samples.
I was really surprised when I got this fabric as I expected a neutral pale gray, but this has a pretty strong green cast to it. I included a photo of a lightweight towel I made with it, in case it could be helpful to others. It is still a lovely fabric, as I said I was just surprised when I received it.
This fabric is very nice. The color was as described. Gray with a slight blue undertone. I made curtains from my order and they hang very nice! Will purchase from this sight in the future. Had enough fabric left over to make eight napkins!
I have not yet used this piece of Dove linen, but plan to use it in a color-block blouse. My original purchase of a piece of white medium-weight linen has been made into a nightgown and pillowcase, and I am very happy with them both. Thank you for being there! I have been compiling a list of all the various things people in your reviews use your linen for, and so far have come up with 39 different things from Renaissance costumes to Roman shades.
I would say the undertone of the dove grey fabric I received was green and not blue. At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me based on the surfaces under and around the fabric or the lighting, but I moved it next to several different colors and in different lighting and the piece I received was definitely green-grey.
Based on the previous reviews, I didn't know precisely what to expect when I ordered this fabric, but I figured I should give it a try. What arrived was the lightest blue/green that was slightly greyed out. It. Is. Gorgeous. I am making an outer Perkish coat with it to go over a pale yet bright pink golmek that I am making out of sari silk. The border from this sari is heavily beaded and I cut it off to applique it onto the linen as it matches the Dove perfectly. This fabric overall is a dream and the color is out of this world. Go into it with an open mind and the possibilities for it are limitless!
I love this linen! It is a pale blue-gray and so serene! Perfect weight and drape for so many things!
I made European pillow shams for our master bedroom, and this color looks great with so many colors. I like to change accent colors with the seasons. Wish it came in a heavier weight for slipcovers or upholstery projects.
I am very pleased with this gorgeous fabric. Great color and texture.
The color is not a true gray. Holding it against "Meadow" linen and it appears to be just a lighter hue of that green. Love the fabric though.
This is a lovely color but beware if you are looking for a true soft silver grey this is not it. This color has a lot of blue in it making it a very ethereal shade of grey. Like all the IL019 linens, this softens and wears beautifully.
Great color.Good weight to use for bedding and pillows. Light enough for ruffles.
I purchased this linen specifically after reading the reviews. As others say, the colour is misleading but this ended up being exactly what I was looking for. It is a very pale soft blue grey with the emphasis on the blue. I think it is beautiful and it has worked out very nicely for my projects. It washes well and is nice to work with.
I have not made anything yet with this Dove linen. (Been busy with Christmas projects) But I will tell you it is such a lovely color. I was so pleased when I first laid eyes on it after opening the package. I will have to come up with something very special. Plus it will pair very well with so many other colors. Probably won't post my pic til after the new year. BTW Happy Holidays to to F-S.COM! Absolutely love you guys.
I purchase quite a bit of linen from Fabrics-Store. I love using it for machine embroidery, quilting, making table runners and dresser scarves, chair covers---IL019 is my favorite go-to linen. When my order of Dove arrived, at first it looked like a very pale silvery sage green. Very beautiful. Now I have found that depending on what you put it next to, it ranges from a true pale gray to a pale gray blue to a silvery sage green. It's a flexible color, playing upon what it sits next to..which makes it versatile as well. I am making a ruffled pinafore apron with this now and I know it will be wonderful when finished. I have never been disappointed in anything I've purchased from Fabrics-Store. My only complaint would be their no-free-shipping policy to Alaska, when they provide free shipping to everywhere else in the USA (except Hawaii) on qualifying purchase amounts. Boo Hiss on that one. So I must grit my teeth and pay postage...which causes me to purchase fewer yards of linen to compensate for the shipping costs.
be aware that this reads (to me, fwiw) as a very cool grey with a lot of blue undertones. almost very light blue in certain light. a lovely color on its own but does not match my warm grey decor.
Pillow is the creation of Debbie over etsy.com/shop/cottageandcabin I posted it for her so that everyone could see the lovely items she is creating with this color.
ive been trying to find a very light grey. I usually use mixed natural in the place of light grey but, i tell you i will be ordering more of this (still LOVE the mixed natural tho). I ordered a swatch and soon after ordered enough to make a king sized blanket..... i think ill use this fabric for light throw blankets and duvet covers as well.... maybe make a dress. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
This color is devine--I'd describe it as a soft white grey. It's a perfect compliment to optic white or any of the other soft pastels, or on its own, it's a classic in place of using white or off white. The three yards I purchased are destined to be an outrageous, dropped waist dress, understated and with clean lines. These won't be the last three yards I purchase of this color. Thanks for offering it to us, FS.
Top: "IL019 DOVE" (pale version of meadow) Bottom: "IL019 MEADOW" (deeper version of Dove)
Lightweight towel, color has a green cast.
This linen has a lovely, soft billowy drape...and the fabric color "Dove", I would describe is more towards a gray -minty green spectrum. I LOVE everything linen ; to slip into my new luxurious linen bathrobe every morning is such a yummy/delicious way to start my day!
Top to bottom comparison, all 019: Bleached (signature finish); dove; meadow; silver blue. Perfect gradation.
This was the perfect shade of a light blue grey for our recreation of Margaery Tyrell's wedding dress from HBO's Game of Thrones. Soft hand, great drape and bounce for all 300 hand rolled roses and sweeping train! To see more photos of this dress please visit: fadendesignstudios.com
Just in time for our Easter wedding. The seat pad has been covered in the gorgeous dove gray linen and finished with a vintage 50's floral cotton. The back is covered in asphalt for a change x
