At a lighter weight of 3.5 ounces this 100% linen is woven with finer threads to give it a smoother appearance. Referred to as lightweight or handkerchief linen, this fine, but surprisingly sturdy linen brings new meaning to the term "sheer elegance".

Jennifer profile image Beautiful color!!

PLEASE bring this color back! It's the most gorgeous shade of lilac with a hint of gray - breathtaking with pale olive complexions. I made myself one shirt with this linen and have had multiple people commission me to make them one - only to find that the linen is out of stock. It's such a lovely lavender; please bring it back!

Hana profile image Gorgeous, but a color chameleon!
Reviewer: Hana

This fabric is gorgeous and the texture is wonderful. It makes amazing peploses. However, not for folks who hate pink! In natural light, it's a gorgeous violet lilac/lavender, but once it's under artificial light, it turns a delicate plum pink.

I keep coming back to this colour and then looking at the review pics and realising I've bought it before - it's not the lovely lavender you see o on the screen but a lilac-hued GEEY. This is partly the dye and partly the result of it being a lovely fine fabric that the light goes straight through, blanching the colour. Don't by this if A) you're not into washed out (no i don't mean pastel - it's not pastel) colours oe B) you only look food in bluish purples - this has a bit of a yellow cast

This is only one of the lightweight linens I bought but the colour is divine. I'm still in the process of assembling a tunic in it which I hope to wear on a forthcoming cruise. I can't wait to try the others

Penelope profile image Wonderful Everyday Linen for Shirts
Reviewer: Penelope

If you live in a warm climate, by all means, wear linen everyday. Lightweight IL20 linen is a wonderful choice for easy, fluid shirts with classic shirtmaking details. Pre-wash and dry at least twice and carefully press your fabric before cutting and sewing. Use a light weight high quality, professional fusible interfacing for plackets, collars, and cuffs; and for ease of pressing and a detailed shirt finish, serge all seams and edge stitch and top stitch seams. Yes, you do have to iron your shirts if you want to wear refined shirts; for a lived-in look, wear right out of the dryer.

I normally don't use much color, but when I do, I like the tones to be in keeping with my monochromatic color palate. I use this color for my lightweight robe and my customers love the color. Beth Breathe Clothing

Bias cut blouse in IL020 SILVER LILAC. Amazing fabric, and even more amazing on bias. Definitely will buy more linen of this weight, love-love-love. Color is simply gorgeous, not sure my camera captured all of its loveliness.
