At 5.1 ounces this Open Weave 57 inch wide linen has a unique slightly sheer look and feel that sets it apart from other medium weight linens. Open weave does not make it less durable or versatile, just loosely woven.
This linen should be laundered in a cold wash-tumble dried on air setting or very low heat--line dry if possible.

When they describe this as a loose weave, it's definitely a loose weave, it has the same texture as burlap (if that's what your looking for). I was hoping for a bit more dimension based on the photo, which it doesn't have. While it is soft I found that it produces a LOT of lint when washed and dried. I'm using it for a baby sling, so I washed and dried per I normally do with linen which isn't technically correct and it pilled, which was very disappointing (but ultimately my own fault) so definitely don't dry all the way and leave it a bit damp. The fabric was cut and marked as shipped within the same day as my order which was impressive. Though the delivery was efficient it wasn't the quickest and there was no tracking number provided so you don't know how long it will actually take. Overall I'm pleased enough with the company that I will order again, but not this particular linen.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Please note that some of our darker or more vibrant shades will have some residual dye run off or bleeding. It is important that you launder or treat like colors with like colors so that you do not compromise the integrity of any other colors, fabrics or garments during the launder process.
We also suggest that if you are combining one or more of these types of colors with lighter colors that you pre-wash the linens seperately and once the item is completed do not launder again, but Dry Clean.
