Bleached color is achieved by "stripping" the natural pigment out of the fibers( just like you would with bleaching hair). What you are left with is a very soft shade that is just ever so slightly an off-white color.
Bleached is the basics of any project and loves being dyed. It is actually what we use to dye the colors. A truly versatile base and a must-have addition to your fabric repertoire.

At 5.1 ounces this Open Weave 57 inch wide linen has a unique slightly sheer look and feel that sets it apart from other medium weight linens. Open weave does not make it less durable or versatile, just loosely woven.

This linen should be laundered in a cold wash-tumble dried on air setting or very low heat--line dry if possible.

The cloth is Softened so we have added a softener to give it a silkier hand. The fabric has not been laundered so shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration (shrinkage depends on fabric weave and laundering method).

Lovely

I actually cut the fabric into the two pieces as suggested---but decided they were way too wide to be used as a scarf, so one has been cut into two again. The narrower scarves are beautiful and soft... I love linen! The last wider shawl width is yet to be decided upon. I'm contemplating it as perhaps a nursing shawl for my granddaughter.

Ready for summer nights

I love the shawl I made from 2 yards of this fabric, but I wish it were 10 -12" longer. I am going to order more of this fabric, and make the shawl longer this time. It was very easy to complete; I went with the un-ironed look.

Beautiful scarves

I purchased 2 yards of this to make the scarves project. I made the two scarves and they are beautiful! After washing, I ironed one and left the other. They both look great! I'm going to send one as a gift. Keep the projects coming!

Perfect for curtains

Making curtains with this fabric was the first thing I did when we moved into our new home. It is sheer enough to see out, but allows privacy too. I've also used this fabric in various colors to make long, wide scarves which I absolutely love and wear nearly every day.

Amazing Open Weave

When I ordered this linen, I had planned on using it for cross stitch projects. However, I didn't realize how lightweight it is. It turns out it's too lightweight for the purposes I had planned. So then I didn't quite know what to do with it. It's so sheer I thought perhaps it would make nice curtains in the bedroom. However, after washing and de-fuzzing it, it was so soft and cuddly that I decided I needed to use it for something more personal. So, I made myself a pair of boyshorts. You know, girly underpants that look like boy's boxers? Oh my gosh are they comfy! It's like wearing clouds against my skin. Because the fabric is so sheer, I put a lining in the "personal" area. I just feel more comfortable and secure having that lining for hygienic reasons. You can use this linen for just about anything that you can think of where you need a soft, sheer fabric. Only your imagination limits what you can do with it.

Hand painted the linen and then made it into a toddler dress. Easy and fun to do. StitchingSweetbyK on Etsy

The fabric is soft after washing and you can see it is not ironed.

Thank you for the shawl pattern. I have made the first one, and I hand stitched the sides. I think it makes a lovely gift.

One of two scarves. This one is ironed. They're both so nice, high quality.

This open-weave rustic linen is perfect for my Arts and Crafts bungalow, and a refreshing and simple change from the lace curtains I previously had on the door and sidelights. Very private from the outside, but doesn't hamper the view or light on the inside. It was rather daunting how this fabric looked after washing and drying, but it pressed up beautifully and was easy to sew.
