A 57 inch wide heavier linen weighing 8.1 ounces it is referred to as canvas weight , this linen is perfectly suited for projects that require a sturdier yet still fashionable linen.

The Premier Finish undergoes a two-step process to give the cloth a luxurious, supple feel right out of the box.

First, we apply a softener to give the fabric a silkier surface. Then, strong blasts of air are blown into the woven cloth. This beats up the fibers to make them softer and mimics the fiber bending process that the fabric undergoes when you've used it a lot.

This finishing process gives the fabric a much softer and more luxurious hand. It will be less prone to deep creases and have less linting. Shrinkage will still have to be taken into consideration based on the fabric type ( thread size, count, weave type).

Love this color. It is the shade of yellow I have been searching for. Any chance it will become available in the medium weight?

Private to Maureen: I have purchased this same creamy yellow color in the past in a lighter weight. One time and I never saw it again. Unfortunately,I did not buy more. So beautiful!Hope you can bring it back.

Would this weight be suitable for making Sew Liberated's new pattern for the ‘l'oeuf bag ‘?

Yes, this fabric is lovely and sturdy for that bag, and if desired, you can stiffen it up further with a fusible interfacing on the wrong side.

Sturdy and soft

I made 6 big bath towels from this lovely yellow fabric..for Christmas gifts. I'm positive sisters will love them. I've been using linen bath towels for a couple of years and am so spoiled....I travel with one. The water almost jumps off my body into the linen.....and...BONUS....if you line dry...you get a nice loofah treatment...without the stinky mildew that always...eventually..grows on a natural loofah..

Not canvas

Canvas is a tightly woven, heavy weight fabric. This fabric's weave is looser than the medium weight. You can see through it if you hold it up to the light, not possible with real canvas. I like the color, a rich, buttery yellow. I made towels. I was going to make washcloths as well but the washcloths I made with the medium weight fabric have holes after less than a year. Given the loose weave, I'm afraid this fabric will not last for washcloths either.

Hi there, Thanks for your feedback about our linen. This fabric is referred to a canvas weight, not a canvas fabric which is traditionally made from a tightly woven cotton fabric. This fabric is woven from thicker yarns of 100% linen which is a stronger fiber than cotton. So you should get much more wear out of this fabric than other finer fabrics.

Versatile fabric for so many projects

This fabric is described as a heavy weight linen. While the individual threads are thicker than the IL19, it is more loosely woven. For me, I would say it's more of a medium weight. I made an unlined jacket that was cool enough to wear on an 80 degree day. The fabric has nice body but still drapes beautifully. The color is slightly paler than on my computer monitor, more like a light butter yellow. It's a gorgeous fabric and I hope it will be available in more colors.

BEAUTIFUL! Soooooo SOFT!

I purchased a couple of colors in this canvas weight for dog beds and bags. OH MY GOSH! This gorgeous yellow demands to be a button down shirt, or dress, or pants or all three! The TEXTURE!! Just delightful! The color is beautiful and I'm not usually drawn to yellows, but this is a cool, pure, lovely yellow. I can't believe a "canvas" weight fabric can be this soft! I would purchase a non-softened color in this weight if you need structure in your project or know you will need to add interfacing depending on what your project calls for. The premier finish is soft, supple and divine even in this weight.

This is the Itch to Stitch Hvar unlined jacket. The body and drape of this fabric was perfect for the project.
